8:35 am
Cloudy

As the first rays of dawn kissed the horizon,
maddy stirred from her slumber,
her mind foggy with the remnants of dreams. With a gentle stretch, she blinked away the remnants of sleep,
her eyes adjusting to the soft morning light filtering through the curtains.

Turning to her side,
she expected to find the warmth of her husband beside her, but the other side of the bed remained untouched,
the sheets still neatly folded.
A familiar pang of loneliness settled in her chest as she recalled the distance that had grown between them.

With a sigh, Maddy rose from the bed,
the cool wooden floor greeting her bare feet. She wrapped herself in a robe and made her way downstairs,
the silence of the house amplifying the emptiness she felt inside.

Entering the kitchen,
she busied herself with preparing breakfast, the rhythmic clatter of pots and pans echoing in the room.
But no matter how much she tried to distract herself, thoughts of her husband lingered in the back of her mind.

It had been months since they last shared a meaningful conversation, the chasm between them widening with each passing day. He was always busy with work, his focus solely on the company ,
as a ceo he needs to work hard .
But she.. felt like a stranger in her own home,
yearning for the warmth of his touch, the sound of his laughter that she had never heard.

As the aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled the air,
Evelyn heard the distant sound of footsteps approaching.
Her heart quickened with anticipation, hoping against hope that today would be different, that today he would see her, truly see her.

And then he appeared in the doorway,
his presence commanding the room as always. Tall, impeccably dressed, with eyes that held a million secrets,
he was the epitome of power and control. But beneath the steely exterior lay a heart she longed to reach, a soul she yearned to connect with.

"Good morning," she greeted softly, her voice barely a whisper in the quiet of the morning.

He glanced at her coldy a fleeting look of acknowledgment before turning his attention to the newspaper in his hand.

"Morning,"
he replied

Undeterred,
maddy pressed on,
determined to break through the walls he had built around his heart.

"I was thinking... maybe we could have breakfast together," she suggested, her eyes pleading for him to see her, to really see her.

He hesitated for a moment, his gaze lingering on her face as if searching for something. And then, with a barely perceptible nod, he set aside the newspaper and took a seat at the table.

As they sat across from each other,
the distance between them felt palpable, like an invisible barrier keeping them apart.
She refused to give up hope, refusing to believe that it might be a day that he'll fall inlove back

For in the quiet moments of the morning, as they shared their first meal together in what felt like an eternity,
she saw glimpses of the man she fell in love with, the man she knew was still there, buried beneath the weight of his responsibilities.

And with each passing moment, she vowed to thaw the ice around his heart,
to remind him of the love they once shared,
and to rebuild the connection that had been lost along the way.
