Chapter 3-Trial 5 + Important Note

(Author's Note: Hello everynyan. It's been a while. ~~take a shot after every time I've said that in one of these :skull:~~ School and demotivation has been kicking my ass for a long while. As you can probably tell, I haven't updated in a while, and it'll honestly probably stay that way for a pretty long time. I've got a bunch of other projects I've been doing and honestly, sometimes I forget this even exists- This also goes for all of my other works too, I just haven't have the motivation nor time to work on them as much, especially with school. I'm going to try to finish this Chapter by the end of the year, but I can't guarantee anything. I also think I'm going to try making smaller posts, since some of these reach more than 2000 words believe it or not, and I obviously can't always produce work of that length without sacrificing quality. I'm undecided on whether I'll keep doing it at the moment, but it might be a shift I take to keep myself from ghosting this as much. Let me know in the comments or in the Discord server which one you'd prefer to see. I just hope that regardless of everything, you enjoy reading my little story. Rena: "Hold it everyone, there's a flaw in this theory."

Sheik: "What, really?"

Rena: "Yes. It has to do with how Vika's body was when we found her."

Saturn: "Elaborate."

Rena: "When we found her body, Vika's body was completely dry, implying that there was not a cycle ran recently."

Vex: "Well the water could've evaporated."

Rena: "It would not have been able to evaporate between the end of the cycle to when we found her. Besides, it's not possible for another reason."

Vex: "And that is?"

Rena: "The door to the machine Vika was in was open when you all found her, right? The killer would not have likely had the time to run the cycle and be able to open the door and have all the water evaporate by the time we found her. There just is not enough time for that, straight up."

Myth: "Well, I'm kind of relieved about that. Dying in a running washing machine would've been such a horrible way to die..."

Saturn: "Agreed. However, that begs the question of what was her cause of death?"

Ternovuh: "With how the murder was done, it's hard to determine..."

Reiko: "Let's just try tossing ideas around, maybe we'll find something worthwhile."

Inteol: "Alright everyone, listen up. If you find something worth pointing out, do so."

Inteol: "Our current objective is to find out what killed Vika."
Vex: "No shit Sherlock."
Escovo: "Unnecessary, Vex."

Inteol: "So if anyone has any leads or ideas, please speak now."

Saturn: "It didn't really look like she had any cuts or stabs, so I think we can rule out blood loss."

Sheik: "I think it's pretty obvious she wasn't **burnt to death** or anything like that either."

Vex: "There were also no signs of poison being used, so I'd like to rule that out as well."
Myth: "Are we sure *this* guy is who we should be trusting?"
Escovo: "Do *you* have any better ideas?"

Ekolo: "What's even left at that point?"
Vex: "You'd be surprised."
Dulse: "Well *that's* not ominous at all..."

Escovo: "You're one to talk."

Reiko: "I think blunt force trauma immediately comes to mind."

Dulse: "It's possible she was strangled as well."

Dulse: "Did anyone check underneath her scarf?"
Escovo: "Shit, wait that's smart."
Sheik: "I shoulda done that-"

Saturn: "..."
Escovo: "Oh no."

Dulse: "I'll take that silence as a no."
Ternovuh: "That would've been a good thing to do..."

Escovo: "Is that everything?"

Dulse: "Obviously not, but it's probably the most likely two from what we have."

Rena: So we're figuring out the cause of death now...? I'll have to think hard about which one I think it is.

Dulse: "What makes you think that?"

Rena: "I'll start with a question for everyone. Did anyone see the dent on the corner of the washing machine next the one Vika was in?"

Saturn: "Yeah, I did. Where is this going?"

Rena: "You think it's possible that the killer bashed her head into that corner?"

Saturn: "...!"

Myth: "It is plausible..."

Rena: "It also wouldn't necessarily spill any blood either, so there's the possibility they wouldn't have to clean it ei-"

Dulse: Rebuttal "Your convictions have turned sour!"

Rena: "Dulse? What's this about?"

Dulse: "Listen, I know I'm not the most trustworthy source, but I highly doubt that the killer would've been able to kill her like that without there being blood."

Rena: "Are you sure? Maybe if they hit her just right she'd die without blood loss."

Dulse: "I have... a bit of experience with this, and I can pretty confidently say that is very unlikely. So much so that I don't believe that's what happened."

Rena: "Well in that case, let's talk it out and confirm one way or another which is right."

Dulse: "Gladly."
