The Harrowing Odes of Barbatos
┗━━━✦❘༻༺❘✦━━━┛

In sapphire blue
And crystal pearls
The clear sky bid farewell
While the ruby scarlet swept above the land

A shrouded ghost in white silk.
Four pairs of feathered wings; yet one is drawn by a dozen pairs of eyes.
When he sings, the voices of the sudden thunders spoke;
harvesting the blood of the innocent.
Their screeches echoed throughout every deserted hall.

The people's prayers and mournings were shrugged;
like a desired dream that was never achieved.

"Where is our god?"
"Why did he not come for us?"
"Why did he let this happen?"

The god of freedom came forth not;
but only an ear-piercing screech.
The nuns cried in horror.
The drunkards collapsed onto the cold ground.
And the whole city remained restless for seven days.

Seven resentful days!
Barbatos, they sought for your benevolence.
The nation kneeled to the shrills of your storm.
Then the people's identities were stolen by Celestia;
thinking that bloodshed is righteous;
for it eliminates the sinners.
Ah, the malicious curse of pride!

"Lord Barbatos, we await for thy presence!"
A god slaughtering his own people?
Such divine beings;
now staining their hands in red.
When one savors the delight of glory;
they achieve blindness to the cautions.

Their god is the devil.
The devil beneath the cloak of his beauty.
Behind his youthful smile and his lustrous eyes;
hide the grinding teeth of a flaring beast.
An oasis of deception.
Bring forth their salvation!
