There be a forest, breathing green and bright
To a boy unable to enter, appeared Fox much to his fright

There be a fox, too sweet for even a candy store.
"Why is it that you're out here? You'd be much happier out in the forest floor"

There be a sadness as the boy talked "I cannot go through the wood or flowers
It will all turn to dust if I dare walk, for everything I touch my curse devours."

There be a laugh from Fox as she went on "Child, there be no silly thing like a curse!"
"Here, follow me through the woodland. Just promise me to be careful as we traverse."

There be a hesitance in the air like a storm "But what if the curse takes you aswell-"
"Nonsense!" Fox said kindly. "As your guide, I promise your trip will be swell!"

There be a breeze in the air like a soft kiss, that waved away the smell of the boy's death
As for the first time the boy smiled at life, letting the pinks and yellows fill even his breath

There be a moment when tears filled his eyes. "This is the life that I've missed all this time?"
Fox smiled as flies clouded her eyes and worms buried into her fur. "Yes child, this is life."
