Lavenders lay on the new white fence,

As sunflowers stood up straight, as if alert and ready to defend

Yellow daisies blossomed high and straight,

With a grassy path leading the way to a still, blue lake.

Two children skip around each other in the yard,

As they laugh together with love brewing in their hearts.

One a girl, the other a boy,

Without a care in the world, just there to enjoy.

Together they stayed, forever and ever,

Until the accident, that left his life severed.

She screamed when she fell,

Knowing she was not ready to say farewell.

The blue water splashed,

Leaving a rather large ripple before it had passed.

Dying purple hyacinths grew limp on the old fence,

The number of wilting flowers was rather immense.

Pale chrysanthemums quietly gave into their fate,

As he stood in front of the still, blue lake.

One adult stood silent in the yard,

Looking at the lake with a scarred heart.
