Blake's POV
"No wear that. You looked hot in it."
"Thanks."
Amari was helping me figure out what I should wear to go to Marisol's "party". She thought we should dress up even though we are just going to the dorm building next door. She thought I should be comfy casual and wear a pair of olive green cargo pants and a baggy t-shirt, while she is wearing leggings, a crop top, and a baggy jacket on top.
"Are you ready?" She said basically bouncing up and down at the door.
"Yeah, let me just put my shoes on." I put on my Converse as fast as I could, which was really that quick since Converse takes forever to put on.
"Okay let's go,"
We walked out of our dorm building and started our way to Marisol's, "Have you ever been to one of Marisol's hangouts?"
"I think maybe once last year, we weren't that close but had mutual friends. You know Chloe right?"
"Short, Blonde, freckles?"
"Yea, here we used to be real close last year, she ended up being a bitch, but anyways she was close with Marisol's Best friend so by default we all kind of hung out."
"oh, Do you think she is going to be there tonight?"
"I don't know. I haven't seen her and Marisol together lately, she's been more. by herself. Maybe Marisol realized the type of person she is."
"What happened between you too?" I asked as we entered Marsiol's building.
"It's a long story. I'll tell you another time, I wanna enjoy my time. Marisol's room is just up this way."
When we got to the door Amari knocked for the both of us.The door swung open to reveal Marisol, beaming with excitement. Her dark brown hair with pink highlights framed her face perfectly, and her smile was contagious. "Hey, you made it!" she greeted us, stepping aside to let us in.
"Hey Marisol," Amari said, giving her a quick hug before stepping inside.
"Hi Marisol," I said, a bit more shyly.
Marisol's room was buzzing with activity. There were about ten people scattered around, some chatting in small groups, others engrossed in a game of cards on the floor. The room was cozy and inviting, with LED lights casting a warm glow over everything.
"Come on in, make yourselves at home," Marisol said, leading us to a corner where a few people were lounging on bean bags. "This is Blake, she's new this year."
Everyone greeted me warmly, and I felt my nerves ease up a bit. Marisol handed us each a drink, I looked at Amari who immediately took a sip.
"You don't drink?"
"No, I do. I just didn't think anyone would have alcohol on campus as it's kind of hard to sneak anything in."
"oh, it's not that hard once you figure out how to. we've been doing it since sophomore year. Only a couple of people have been caught so the school hasn't made it any harder, they don't think it's a problem yet."
We walked further into the room, Marisol was sitting on a bean bag chair on the side of the bed.
"Hey Blake I saved you a set next to me", she gestured to the other bean bag chair that was next to her. "Guys this is Blake, she's new to the school this year, so be nice and don't say or do anything stupid."
The girls all went around the room and introduced themselves, I knew most of them due to having classes with them but we've never really spoken.
"So, Blake, how are you liking it here so far?"
