"What did you get up to last night?" Iris's dad asks the next morning, sipping on coffee behind the counter while scrolling through facebook
Iris stumbles groggily into the kitchen and takes a seat on a barstool. She yawns big, indicating how soon it's been since waking up. He looks at her with a smile and a shake of the head.
"Uhh...Not much. Me and Matt had a date" She admits, rubbing her eye
"Oh yeah? How was that?" He asks
"Perfect actually" She recalls
Both her and Matt, unknown to the other, were in equal disbelief yet satisfaction about the kisses they shared last night.
"Did you tell him yet?" He questions
"Dad! There was no time to. I didn't want to ruin a perfect night" Iris sighs "I promise I plan to"
"Don't string him along, Iris. I mean it. Matt is a good kid" He shakes his head, peering his attention back to his phone
Iris pulls out her own phone, noticing texts from the groupchat.

With a sigh, Iris walks to her bedroom and gathers clothes for a shower. She couldn't help but think about Matt. Reality is, she's scared of losing him. She is afraid of scaring him away. Was it a simple fear of abandonment or something else?
She decided to spend today by herself and with her dad. Matt and his family were doing the same, as there was only two days left in the trip before returning home together.
