IT'D been a few days since you had messaged Sae, and you had suddenly become .. nervous? Sure, texting Sae always made you nervous, but in a confident kind of way - this was a fear that your-heart-would-fall-out-your-ass kind of nervous.

You knew you needed to message him soon so he didn't think anything of it, but you were so confused by your emotions that you had completely forgotten to. Of course, you always found him insanely attractive, and really easy to talk with - but this was a new level.

Your face flushed every time you thought about him, and heart fluttered every time you caught sight of the pastel peonies that sat like a trophy on your marble counter. Usually, sparking a conversation with Sae was easy, but these last few days, you were conscious of everything you tried to say, criticising your every word and joke - it was tiring.

This was it. You had finally let yourself come to the daunting realisation. You liked Sae Itoshi.
Not just a simple, fleeting crush, but an overwhelming, all-consuming crush. You finally plucked up the courage to message him, heart hammering in the steel chamber of your ribs.

MEANWHILE...

Sae was unusually irritated the past few days
- no explicable reasoning occurred to him, though. He was on a break right now, aggravation simmering his being as no one dared to break the suffocating silence he had veiled onto the field.

He checked his phone again, telling himself it was to look at the time - but even he knew that wasn't true. He didn't know when or how this had happened, but he found himself waiting for the pesky girl's message - so much so, her lack of presence began to grate on him.

Why didn't she text him? Usually, Sae couldn't care less, but his gut twisted whenever you posted something like a scenic view or a new teddy and didn't bother to gush about it to him. It all felt so strange, so uncomfortable it made him physically nauseous.

Finally, he had enough of waiting, so he decided - just this once - he would text first.

ALSO MEANWHILE...

Trying to craft the most abnormal, outrageous sentence to start a conversation, you sat stuck - pondering on what topic to pick. Usually, you'd think of a diabolical thing and send it, but this time, it had to be perfect. Deviously cooking a storm of a sentence, you had finally thought of it.
Though, it seems somebody had already beat you to it.
