a/n: don't forget to comment!! two chapters AGAIN!!
itadori was finally allowed by gojo to reveal himself. although the expressions garnered by his friends did not look enthusiastic. the pinkette was happy to be with his friends again after a long absence. taking this opportunity, he got acquainted with the other students gojo teaches, quickly integrating himself within the group.
according to gojo, the kyoto sister exchange will start the next day so the white haired man gives free reign to the teenagers as he teleports away to probably bother yaga or utahime; one of the other teachers in the school.
as fushiguro and nobara exchange conversation with maki and the others, the latter frowns when she notices a missing presence, her eyes searching around her in confusion, "where's itadori?.." her question prompted the others to look around and notice the missing pinkette, "i swear he was just here a moment ago," she scratches her head, unless...
fushiguro and nobara exchange wide eyed looks. don't tell me it was...—
.....
wind rustled the green leaves overhead, their sways like a beautiful dance . The crisp mountain air nipped at (y/n)'s cheeks as she wanders the sprawling grounds of jujutsu high.
towering cedars cast long shadows across the cobblestone paths, their branches heavy with the silence of the forest. A lone red maple, vibrant against the muted greens, stood proud near the entrance, its leaves catching the fading light of the setting sun.
the (h/c)-ette trudges further into the trees, seeing a hopping bunny nibbling on the grass, a smile on her face, "..such a peaceful place," she mutters to herself, "not exactly the vibe I was expecting from a school for sorcerers." she muses, she felt like she experiencing a harry potter moment and she is harry..?
as she continues her walk, (y/n)'s brow furrowed with suspicion as she feels someone watching her. she stops walking and turns around, her gaze scouring ahead of her before she darts her eyes upward.
perched atop a particularly large branch, was sukuna, his crimson eyes glinting in the afternoon sun as he stares down at her from his view from above; red irises piercing hers.
huh? there was a silence as (y/n) gapes at him, "..is there...a reason you're following me?" she reluctantly asks, her voice tight with unease but full of curiosity as well. in fact, a small part of her found the situation humorous.
the image of the king of curses, perched so precariously on a branch, was somehow funny, like a cartoon villain caught mid-scheme.
sukuna chuckles, a low, guttural sound that sent shivers down (y/n)'s spine. he tilted his head, a smirk playing on his lips, "you're quite observant," he drawled, "..perhaps i'm merely enjoying the scenery."
(y/n) shifts on her feet, crossing her arms as her guard around him slowly drops. she scoffs, "..i find that hard to believe." she counters, making him chuckle, "a curse like yourself normally doesn't find joy in simplistic things like nature." she remarks, crossing her arms.
sukuna didn't reply to her this time, instead, he began to speak of a different time, a time long past, "...do you remember the cherry blossom festival in heian-kyo?" (y/n) furrows her brows, of course i don't! heck i don't even know what that is!! despite her silence he still continues anyways.
crimson red hues were looking in the distance, glazed, "...the air was thick with the scent of spring, and the petals danced like snowflakes in the wind. you and i.. spent the afternoon beneath the blooming boughs, sharing sake and stories." he speaks in a wistful tone.
(y/n) felt a shiver run down her spine. The mention of heian-kyo sent a jolt through her, a flicker of something familiar, yet beyond her grasp. But none of those memories belonged to her.
they belonged to someone else; another her....or maybe they were memories locked away, buried deep within the confines of her mind and soul, waiting to be resurfaced and remembered.
"i...don't remember that," she murmured, her voice barely above a whisper as she darts her gaze to the leaf covered ground for a brief moment. why is he telling her all of this for?
sukuna hides his emotions, opting to deepen his smirk, "perhaps it was a dream then. But it felt so real. we were carefree... and in love." he pauses, watching her closely, gauging her reaction, "you were the only one who could truly see past my sins, (y/n). you were the only one who didn't fear me..."
he saw the flicker of confusion in her eyes, "i don't understand..." his words spark confusion, does that mean she was with him despite whatever wrongs he did during the heian era?...was she that in love with him?? (y/n) thinks to herself.
sukuna's smirk faded, revealing the raw, primal hunger that resided beneath the surface. he wanted her just as he did back then in the heian era, to stake his claim on her and show the entire world she belongs to him.
"...you will," he said, his voice a low rumble, "you will remember everything. All of it." He leaps down from the branch, landing softly beside her. His time was running out as he feels itadori regaining control of his body once again, "for now, just know that I'm here to protect you and that I won't let anything happen to you."
sukuna moves closer, his presence filling the space between them with an air of both fondness and promise. his figure towers over her as he looks deeply into her eyes, making her anxious.
(y/n) stares at him, her heart pounding against her ribs. what did it all mean? to think a curse like sukuna, a being of chaos and destruction, claim to protect her? she knew better than to trust him, but something about his words, the way he spoke of forgotten memories, drew her in. She felt a strange, unsettling pull towards him, a pull that whispered of something ancient, something powerful... something perhaps true..
sukuna's lips brush against hers and (y/n) was in a frozen state. was he going to...??! what should she do?? but wait..!
the (h/c)-ette swallowed, her throat parched, "don't..." she chokes out, her voice a mere whisper, looking away from him, his breath hitting her cheek instead.
Her heart hammered in her chest, a frantic drum against her ribs. It was so wrong. the king of curses was using her friend's body for his own desires. itadori is her friend, and she felt like if sukuna connects their lips, it will be a violation on her friend..!
sukuna chuckles breathlessly, the black ink fading as itadori regains control of his body. next time, he thinks.
"..e-eh..??! what's going on here?" itadori looks around in confusion, before his eyes widened in realization of how close he had been to (y/n) and their lips centimeters apart, "oh my god, I'm so sorry (y/n)!!! I-I don't know what happened!!!" he smacks his head repeatedly, muttering curses to sukuna under his breath. was that bastard about to put the moves on his friend!? kiss her!??
(y/n) blushes, taking a step back, "it's okay, yuji. I-I understand. It's just...sukuna did possess your body after all." she scratches the back of her head awkwardly.
itadori ran a hand through his hair, still looking shocked, "y-yeah, I can't believe that just happened. I swear, I never would have done something like that. I mean, you're my friend!" he exclaims.
(y/n) nods, "i know, and that's why I couldn't let sukuna take advantage of your body like that. It just didn't feel right." she explains, looking down and not making eye contact..
itadori gives her a grateful smile, "thanks for stopping him, (y/n). I don't know what I'd do without you." his expression is soft.
(y/n)'s blush deepened, but she couldn't help the warm feeling that spread through her chest, of course they were friends. They've known each other for a long time now, she sees him as a little brother! "Anytime, yuji. let's just put this whole thing behind us and move on."
itadori nods in agreement, and the two of them turn to leave, both of them unable to shake off the awkward tension in the air....
