SPARKLING MEMORIES

Volkner falls into a walk behind his Raichu, who seems to be quite happy that they came back to their hometown. Sunyshore City is quiet in the afternoon, with a few people and pokemon around the streets and moving tiles, it is a peaceful walk, so to say. Volkner pulls out his small camera, hoping to take some pictures.

Raichu and him ride the escalators, from where the city looks quite magical, basking in the warm sun rays, the beautiful solar-powered city was worth taking pictures of. And that Volkner did, snapping shots here and there, with his Raichu and other pokemons in the frame, because what is a homely picture if not your loved ones in it.

He smiles, going through the photos in the camera, as they take a small rest under the trees in one of the gardens. As they relax under the tree, a stray Pachirishu makes its way towards Volkner and rests on his side, looking up at him with eager eyes.

"Hungry?"

He pulls out a handful of pokemon food that was stashed away in his bag and lowers his hand to place it in front of the Pachirishu. As the little pokemon jumps and nibbles on the food, Volkner takes that as his chance to snap a few pictures of it.

They soon move on from the garden and ride the moving tiles towards the forest, Volkner thinking that it is time to let his pokemons out and have some fun by the river and forest. He had went on to Kanto region, Hoenn region, battling several gym leaders and resting along the way, but nothing beats the warmth of the Sunyshore City, home to Volkner and his pokemons, a home that is known for its solar power tech that Volkner built. He took pride in all of that. He was a man who loved electricity and all things mechanical, but things like a camera and photography? They were something he picked up as went on his journey after leaving the Gym Leader position.

He was rather delighted to admit that he now loved taking pictures during his journey and had always wished, for quite a long time, to capture the zest of his hometown. And maybe, if possible, a few snapshots of someone in particular. Only if they cross paths!

Luxray and Jolteon somehow end up doing a race and end up in the river, resulting in a spontaneous bath in the river. His other pokemons also join in, splashing water here and there, calling out for Volkner to join them in there.

He hesitates, but gives in and puts his camera in a zip-lock bag and gets in the river, clicking photos as they have fun. He is sure the photos will come out with barely anything visible but remembering the moment from them will be just the same as experiencing it again.

As he takes a few more pictures with him and his pokemons, he spots a curious Cherubi and Turtwig in the bushes.

"Turtwig! Cherubi! Come on!"

A very familiar voice calls out from somewhere behind the two pokemon and soon enough, a nice amber ginger bob peaks out from behind the trees. Cherubi and Turtwig perk up in alarm and instead of returning back to their trainer, they run straight for the pokemon food that was piling up from a hole in Volkner's bag. A sight that had Volkner's pokemon very angry and they too, ran for the pokemon food.

The trainer of Cherubi and Turtwig, none other than Gardenia, walks out from the greenery, looking for them and once spotted, she whines out, "Come on! You guys already had a full bowl each! This is not fair to the other pokemon."

"It's fine, Gardenia!"

Volkner walks up to her, all drenched like a wet depressed Joolteon. Exactly like his pokemon, just depressed.

"Maybe to you, but your pokemons are telling a different story." Gardenia hardly gives him a glance and instead looks at the silly fight their pokemons are having. Trying to push each other away to stuff in any more bite of the pokemon food instead of actively trying to stop the other from eating. She laughs, wondering just how her two little pokemon are still so hungry that they are stealing food from other pokemons.

Volkner removes his camera from the zip-lock bag and holds in carefully to click a few more photos. He goes forward towards the hungry bunch and manages to take a few trick shots of them.

"I see, you have taken a liking to photography, huh?"

"And I see you have let your pokemons loose, huh?"

"Not my fault that they still like your pokemon food better than mine," She shrugs, looking lovingly at her two little pokemons who have now managed to make peace with the others, peacefully munching on the remaining pieces. "Maybe you should've refrained from giving them your pokemon food, the last time you played with them. You bought your own pokemon food demise."

Volkner laughs, 'I am honoured that they think my pokemon food is better than yours." He says so in passing, his mind wondering if it is okay to snap a few shots of the woman in front of him who is distractedly looking at the pokemons behind him.

He makes a decision.
Fuck it. I can manage to take a few shots.

And so he does.

And maybe Gardenia knows that he did take a few pictures of her, here and there, with her pokemons and his, together and randomly. And maybe she did do her best in trying to be natural, because that's a first from Volkner.

And maybe she likes this side of him too, who knows.

Only they know.

Thank you for requesting this oneshot!

I hope this was an enjoyable piece of oneshot, it's not that long of a read or anything. I definitely ended up watching diamon and pearl series to get a hang of the sinnoh region and where what was, in the end, the path isn't so clear but it is a general idea of where what is? I guess?

But oh, this was fun, I added their pokemons because it's just not fun without them sometimes hehe 😅

Hope it was a fun read ✊🏼
