Chapter 14 : Chapter 14
Chapter Text
I felt like I was suffocating on my own air, squeezing the stone between my two hands.

"Dumbledore is going to come, Dumbledore is going to kill me," I told myself, horrified.

They're going to kill me, they're going to kill me.

I gave in to my impulse to run, but stopped after two strides. Where exactly would I run? The ice inside me had already dissolved, the potion wouldn't work to get past the black flames at the door. Turning around, I looked around me, I was in a kind of cavern with no exit, the roof was not an option either.

"No, no, no." Tears of pure fear came to my eyes. What did I do?! Think, think... —I attacked myself, hitting my legs with my fists, the stone tightly gripped between the fingers of my right hand. Who did he know that could get out of a situation like that? Stud went into dark holes all the time, but… —. No, Harry, I said to myself, doing what that frog does is why I got into this.

I tried to take a deep breath, but the air caught in my throat. I approached the flames,  if I envelope myself in my magic maybe ..., the scorching heat of the black fire prevented me from trying. This was not a usual fire and I was too unstable to take advantage of my mastery of wandless magic. I was trapped with no way out, just like the time in the chamber.

—How did I get out of there? —I tried to think. She had asked for a Parseltongue output to the chamber, which wouldn't work elsewhere in the castle. Although…  the castle is a quarter of Slytherin , I reasoned. Yes, he is from Slytherin, he has to obey me as heir,” I said with admiration. If I was right, Hogwarts itself would save me.

I then remembered Dad's words before taking the train at King Cross:  if you allow the ancient magic of the castle to shelter you and be your refuge, I promise you that you will find Hogwarts a second home . In my home I was almost a prince, I had what I wanted whenever I wanted, there were people taking care of me and the evil of the world couldn't touch me. Home meant dad, protection. And what could harm me if I stood behind Dad?

The air now went down to my lungs.

—Hogwarts, give me a safe route to a place where I can hide. Thank you.

I smiled at the wall that separated in two and formed the beginning of a staircase, the frame was surrounded by runes, but I was not very knowledgeable about that subject. Confidently holding the invisibility cloak and putting the stone in my pocket I advanced to the stairs. A warm breeze surrounded me as I touched the first step.  How nice . The breeze picked up strength and gently pressed me against it. I looked again, she was a translucent lady, but not like a ghost, because she was soft and warm. Her features were fine, of high birth, but she was not a fine woman, she was slightly over the recommended weight. And she was beautiful, oh boy.

“Hurry up,” he whispered in my ear. Her breath was fresh, I certainly felt attracted to her. Who was she?

—Hogwarts?
