Chapter Eight | Twisted Love | { Kingdom Keepers }

"Hi." A girl with dark blonde hair and blue eyes sat across from me. "You must be Willa!" She said excitedly. Willa gave a smile and nodded.
"Cool! I'm Elaine. Have you made any friends yet." I just sat there starring at her, shy.
"No, not really." I replied.
"Well you can be my friend!" She smiled.

"Elaine!" Willa shouted out, getting her best friends attention. The girls both laughed as they sat together at their table.
"Mike looked at me again." Willa whispered to Elaine. The girls giggled and waved to him as he walked by.
"Don't make it obvious." Elaine smiled, mostly teased. It has been about four years they have been friends, to find out, they wouldn't be any more. Because when Willa told Elaine she started the Kingdom Keepers, she got incredibly jealous. Well not at first.
"Just don't forget about me." Elaine smile, nudging Willa playfully. Willa swore she wouldn't. But, at day forty, this is what happened.

"Why can't you hang out with me tonight?" Elaine was steaming. "This is the ninth time you have rejected Willa!"
"I know but..."
"But what?!" Elaine said rudely. "You don't have time for me because of your stupid Kingdom Keeper stuff!? That's it, we are done! Go away! Get away, and don't ever talk to me again." We were both hurt. Then she walked away like I wasn't even there.

When I sat down at my couch, letting tears flow from my eyes, I heard a knock on my door. I opened it to see Amanda.
"Oh Willa!" She exclaimed as she stepped in, wrapping her arms around me. "You look..."
"Awful." They both said in unison.
"Oh, Willa, I am so sorry."
"It's okay."
"What happened?" Amanda got tissues and gave them to me.
"It's a long story." I sighed, wiping my tears.
"I've got time." She smiled.

After I told her the story, it stayed quiet. Well only for a second.
"You need to tell Philby what Luke said, and how you mean it. If he doesn't believe your, he's dumb." We both agreed on it. Then Willa looked away more saddened.
"But there's more.." I said. It took Willa a moment to respond to me.

"My friend Elaine would be turning twenty."
"Oh my gosh, I am so sorry." Amanda gasped, covering it with her hands. "What happened?"
"She was popular. Meaning, she was a bully. But bully's are bully's because they are bullied." It was like a tongue twister.
"She was bullied a lot. She..." Willa trailed off. "We use to be best friends. Then I joined the KK.. And she got jealous and mad."
"I'm sorry." Amanda looked at the floor. Willa wiped tears away from her eyes then looked at Amanda.
"I rather not talk about it. Amanda, thank you." Willa stood up smiling. "Thank you for coming to see me." The girls hugged, then Amanda left.

"So," I walked over to Maybeck, giggling. "After dancing for hours with me as a sorry for dating Jess thing, you can do one more thing." Charlene was one inch away from his lips.

"YOU ARE INSANE!" Maybeck screamed. Charlene had driven him to a park with a hiking trail that goes on for minutes, about forty five. She was forcing him to race her all the way to the end, and all the way back.
"No I'm not." Charlene smiled. "You'll be happy you did it." She told him, getting into position to run.

Philby starred at the picture of Marry, that was inside his desk for years now. He wanted to call John, but they haven't talked in forever. He had his phone in his hand but didn't dial the number. He missed London and wondered if Willa was actually going to move to the United Kingdom. Pushing the thoughts away, he went to call John, when he got a text from Willa..

"Come on Maybeck, keep up with me." Charlene pouted. Maybeck was panting, trying to catch his breath. They had finally reached the end... Which meant they had to go all they way back. But.. Maybeck then realized they were under the stars. There were trees that had lights stringed up to them and a picnic set up. Charlene sat down.
"Come over here." She giggled.
"You did this?" He asked amazed. She smiled and nodded. He joined her.
"Wine? Aren't we too young?" He was trying to protect her, all though he popped the cork off.
"It's not like we'll get plastered." She said as he poured a small, small glass. They both laughed and clinked there glasses together.
