Seungmin's fingers drummed nervously against the glass of the window as he looked out into the swirling white veil of the blizzard.

Any moment now, Y/n would be at his doorstep, seeking refuge from the raging winter storm. The thought of his best friend, the one person who had been a constant in his life for nearly a decade, sent a flutter of emotions through Seungmin's heart.

As the minutes ticked by, Seungmin found himself lost in the familiar memories of their friendship, the shared laughter and adventures that had forged an unbreakable bond between them. Yet, in recent years, the distance between them had grown, their once-inseparable schedules slowly drifting them apart. The realization of how much he had missed Y/n's presence, her warm smile and infectious energy, only served to heighten the butterflies in his stomach.

Seungmin had spent countless nights replaying the same scenario in his mind - Y/n arriving at his doorstep, maybe asking to stay over, having a meal, or watching a movie together.

Maybe he would even confess his feelings.

A sudden knock at the door jolted Seungmin from his reverie, and he felt his pulse quicken, his palms growing clammy with anticipation. Steeling his nerves, he strode towards the entrance, pausing for a moment to take a deep, steadying breath before turning the handle.

There she was, Y/n, her features framed by the swirling flurry of snowflakes. Her eyes, wide and luminous, locked onto his, and for a heartbeat, time seemed to stand still. Seungmin drank in the sight of her, his gaze instinctively tracing the familiar curves of her face, the rosy hue that dusted her cheeks, the way her wet hair clung to her skin.

"Seungmin," Y/n breathed, her voice barely above a whisper, laced with a mixture of relief and something else that Seungmin couldn't quite decipher. "I'm so sorry to barge in like this. Thank you so much, for letting me stay."

Seungmin's lips curved into a warm smile as he gestured her inside, his heart swelling with a fondness. "Don't worry about it. You're always welcome here." His fingers brushed against hers as he took her coat, the touch sending a jolt of electricity through his body.

As Y/n stepped into the cozy confines of his apartment, Seungmin couldn't help but notice the way her eyes widened, a soft gasp escaping her lips. The space, once so familiar to her, now seemed to hold a new sense of comfort.

"It's so warm and cozy in here," Y/n murmured, her gaze sweeping across the space before landing back on Seungmin. "I almost forgot how much we barely see each other anymore."

Seungmin felt his cheeks flush at her words, the simple statement igniting a rush of emotions within him. "Well, I aim to make my guests feel at home," he replied, his voice tinged with a hint of playfulness as he gestured her towards the living room.

As they settled onto the couch,  the muffled howl of the wind outside creating a soothing background noise, Seungmin couldn't help but feel the unspoken tension that hung in the air. The proximity of their bodies, the gentle brush of their arms, sent tingles down his spine, and he found himself hyper-aware of every subtle shift and movement.

"I'm really grateful you're letting me stay here, Seungmin," Y/n murmured, her gaze meeting his, a vulnerable sincerity in her expression. "I know you  were probably busy or something..." Her voice trailed off, a hint of uncertainty lacing her words.

Seungmin reached out, his hand lightly brushing against hers, the simple touch igniting a spark that seemed to linger between them. "I'm just glad you're here," he admitted, his voice quiet and sincere. "I've missed you, Y/n."

The words hung in the air, charged with a weight that neither of them could ignore. Seungmin watched as Y/n's eyes widened slightly, her lips parting as if to speak, but the moment was interrupted by a sudden gust of wind that rattled the windows, a subtle reminder of the raging storm outside.

Seungmin cleared his throat, shifting slightly on the couch, the intimate moment slipping away. He sighed deeply. "But enough about that," he said, forcing a lighthearted tone. "How about a warm drink? I think we could both use one after braving this weather."

As he rose to his feet, his gaze lingered on Y/n's face, the light from the snow casting a soft glow on her features. In that moment, Seungmin felt a surge of emotions, a desire to reach out and brush the stray strands of hair from her face, to pull her close and finally reveal the depth of his feelings.

But the fear of ruining their friendship held him back, and with a deep breath, he turned and headed towards the kitchen. For now, he would savor the warmth of her presence, the familiar comfort of her company, and hope that the storm would never end so she could stay longer. He wanted to see her as much as he could and it was eating away at his heart that nothing ever lasts forever. He has this hope that the storm would just freeze everything so he could savor this moment for much longer...
