Innocence shattered at just fourteen,

A world turned dark, where light once had been.

Trust torn asunder by a cousin's sin,
Left me bearing scars, deep under my skin.

His touch, a specter that haunts my nights,

Fills my days with endless frights.

A youthful spirit, now forever marred,
Carrying wounds, open, jagged, scarred.

Disgust and fear, my constant companions,
In a sea of faces, I search for safe havens.

Yet, amidst this turmoil, the hardest to comprehend,
Was my own family’s refusal to mend.

Their unsupportive silence, a secondary crime,
Left me isolated, serving an undeserved time.

Yet, in the shadow of betrayal and neglect,
Strength I find, resolve to protect.

This story, mine, of loss and pain,
A testament to survival, again and again.
