Eyes Like Fire

New Blessings

V lay curled to Vessel's left side. It had been three days, and he still lay unconscious. V refused to move from the bed they had placed Vessel in to be able to easily help him if needed. They kept the lighting low for Vessel for when he woke up. However, anytime someone entered the room, you would see V's glowing purple eyes in the darkness. She knew it was her lovers coming and going but was still protecting Vessel no matter what.

The first time III had tried to get V to come down and eat, she had let out an ear piercing screech until III let her go. III had scrambled away from the bed but soon came back and kissed V's head apologetically. II and IV had told him to leave her be after all. Finally, IV was the one to come and get V to eat something. She had become weak from no food as she lay limply on Vessel's left shoulder.

"Hey, let me feed you? You look hungry." IV whispers as he offers V soup. II knew V had an extra soft spot for IV and that she wouldn't tell him no or scream. V hums lowly as she enjoyed the soup IV fed her. "You're so sweet for keeping him company. Vessel won't have to wake up alone." IV praises as he continues to spoon V soup. V watches IV, but does not speak. IV can definitely see why Sleep picked her to be their female companion. V was extremely loyal and devoted to all four of them.

As the fourth day came around, V started to get a bit frustrated that Vessel was not waking. II knew that Sleep had to be healing Vessel further. He said he could feel her presence, though it was starting to fade. Sleep must be almost done with him. V cries softly as she nuzzled Vessel's cheek with her nose. "Please wake up...?" V mumbles to him. When that did not work, V started to sing softly. V sang about four songs: Euclid, Rain, TMBTE, and finally, Bleeders randomly. Hoping that song would make Vessel realize she was there.

-Ah, she's calling for you.-

Sleep says as she caresses Vessel's face as she looks to the sky. Sleep had Vessel lying in a meadow full of flowers. Vessel opens his eyes slowly and looks at the God. He could hear V now. Vessel looked up to the sky also. He still wasn't able to get very deep breaths, but he was much better off than four days prior.

-Go to her. I will make sure the home is hidden again.-

Sleep then caused Eden to disappear in a swirl of dust like particles.

V was still singing softly to Vessel when she felt a hand brush through her hair. V lifts her head from Vessel's chest and gasps.

"You sound so good..." Vessel compliments in a very cracked voice. V called for the others loudly as she held Vessel's face in her hands. Tears fell to his cheeks as she searched over his face. "Don't cry, love." Vessel pleads before getting stuck in a coughing fit. V hurried to place more pillows under Vessel's shoulders, so he was not lying flat. V poured water in a glass from a decanter that she had ready for days now. V held the back of Vessel's head as she tiped the glass to his lips. Vessel slowly drank until he felt sated. V watched him quietly as tears still stained her face. She looked up when she heard hurried footsteps outside the room.

"Vess... you're awake." II whispers as he comes closer. His right arm in a sling to help his shoulder wound heal without stress. III came running to his right side, falling beside the bed as he took Vessel's hand in both of his. "You scared the fuck out of us in more ways than one!" III scolds lightly. Vessel laughs dryly as he looks at IV coming up beside V. "Thank you for keeping her safe." Vessel says to IV. "Thank you for keeping all of us safe, Vessel." IV corrects as he leans down and kisses Vessel softly before kissing Vessel's cheek.

"How are you feeling?" V asked Vessel as she held the glass of water like a lifeline.

Vessel nods slowly, "Still very tired and sore. The healing spell and Sleep only healed me enough to stay alive. I will still have to wait to be fully back to normal. That transformation also takes a lot out of me when I do it." Vessel explains. "What are we gonna do about the fact they found us again?" III asked worriedly. "Kill them all." V answers darkly as her eyes glow again. Vessel pats her knee and shakes his head.
