Warnings: Emotional cheating with the intention of physically cheating • angst
Please don't come at me with the cheating plot. We all know Chris would NEVER cheat. But this is a fictional world. If you don't like it or don't wanna read it, that's completely fine.
Author's Note: Sorry I've been MIA for a few months. I posted on my profile why if you want to give it a quick read.
If not, that's fine too, ha
Anyways, let me know if y'all want a part two to this. I'm already getting ideas for it but I'm not sure how many of my readers are okay with reading cheating content.

Y/N switched the bathroom light off and made her way to the big empty bed. Her mind ran with a million thoughts not knowing how the night would turn out. Her fingers trailed along the edge of the bed, igniting memories from the past.
Ten years ago, Y/N met Chris and immediately hit it off... as friends. She just started college and his acting career was on the brink of taking off. Their schedules were far too complicated and busy to drop anything and everything for one another.
So, they made a yearly agreement. On the third weekend of August, they would spend an entire weekend in the cabin up in Montana. Completely isolated from the world. No phones. No computers. Just the company of each other.
It worked and they loved every second together. However, by their third year, something shifted during the first night. With his heart thundering against his chest, he leaned in and kissed Y/N. When she pulled back to look at him, he was certainly sure he ruined the best relationship he ever had with favorite person. Except, he didn't.
She was caught off guard for a second and she couldn't believe this was real life. She always thought about kissing Chris since they first met. She wondered how their friendship would progress to a relationship. She often daydreamed in her class how their dates would go, and where they would travel together. One time, she even pictured how he would propose to her.
Chris immediately apologized and she shut him up with her lips. That weekend changed everything. They got lost in each other. Explored every inch of their bodies, experienced a level of an euphoria like never before. It was the weekend the two of them became one.
But unfortunately, reality kept them apart. So, they kept their tradition as promised. Meeting up every year on the third weekend of August, spending their entire weekend making up for lost time.
However, this year was different.
Y/N hadn't spoken to Chris since their last weekend together. Shortly after, many media outlets reported Chris was no longer a single man. Within a couple of months, Chris was officially off the market and a happily married man.
She had no idea he was seeing anyone. He never mentioned it during any of their multiple phone calls or text messages throughout the year. And, she felt like such an idiot, holding on to a foolish dream that one day they would be together forever.
Yet, she still came here on the third weekend of August. Deep down, she knew he wouldn't show up. In some sick twisted way, she hoped he showed up. But, she wasn't betting on it. Chris was a good guy, a wonderful human being. There was no way he would show up. Which is why she did. She needed to come one last time and say goodbye forever.
She got into bed and looked out of the windows of the double French doors that led out to the forest. Her heart began to shatter into pieces as reality started to set in. The love of her life was in love with someone else.
