Nikita POV:

I spent the day relaxing and the next evening was the function. I woke up and showered and did my morning business and came downstairs. I felt it best to wear respectable clothing in Kolkata so I put on another pair of salwar and patiala pants and put my duppata around my neck and came downstairs.

I saw Aunty making breakfast so I offered to help her. We smiled and continued talking.

"Aunty, I wanted to ask you something." I asked.
"Haan tell beta." She said, making food.
"Can I... Can I go visit my family today?" I said.
I saw aunty hesitate. Why was she hesitating? But she said yes in the end.
I smiled, and we both had breakfast early and then I went upstairs to get my bag so I can get ready to leave.

I wore my light blue pastel salwar with a white patiala duppata, added jhumkas and adorned myself with kajal and matte pink subtle lipstick.

Mayukh POV:

"Mayukh Mayukh!" I heard Mom call me in haste when I was done showering and wearing my shirt. I was only in my pants when I opened the door and Mom walked in.
"What happened Mom?"
"Firstly put some clothes on, secondly I..."
"Is everything okay?"
"Nikita asked me to go to visit her family today. What family?"
"What? Oh, she has a few relatives here, who were supposedly at the wed—"
"What?"
Shit.
"Arre nothing. She mentioned she has a few family here, apart from that witch woman. But, she wants to go meet them?!"
"That's what. I don't know if it's safe for her to meet anyone here. Listen, why don't you go with her? No one will touch you here."
I nodded, "Don't worry, I'll go."
"Hurry she's getting ready. You meet her outside. I'll tell her it's unsafe and send you." Mom said and went.

Nikita POV:

I was at the door with my bag and saying goodbye to Bruno when Aunty walked in.
"Beta, I'm sending Mayukh with you. It's a bit unsafe here right now. There's a few riots that happened last week so take him with you."
No. How can I?! These people know him. They were there when he married me, they'll recognize him.
"Aunty... don't. Don't worry about it." I tried to reason.
"Let's go!" I heard him from behind. I turned around and saw him ready to go. He looked amazing in his dark blue plain kurta and white pants.
"Yes, have fun, and please be back by 5 so we can get ready and do tell your family I said hello." Aunty smiled, cupped my face and then left.

I froze. I can't take him there. How do I tell him? We haven't even spoken for 2 months and I doubt he'd want me to bring it up again. I felt being shoulder being tapped by him. I turned to look. "Let's go." He said and he took my bag and went to the car.

I followed him to the car but before I could sit, I tried to explain.
"Listen..." I said and he placed my bag in the car, closed the door and faced me.
"Hmm." He said, while trying to find the location.
"I.. I can't take you here."
He looked up confused, "Why not?"
"They... they know about..."
"They know about our marriage, I know that." Now it was me who looked up in confusion, "I know that they know and that's exactly why I'm coming with you. Do you really think I'm gonna let you walk around in this city without me?"
"You said... she's... gone."
"She is gone, but your relatives aren't. Now sit in the car."
"I can't."
Before I knew it, I was turned around and pinned to the car, "We are married in this city. I'm not leaving you after I've seen what this city has done to you, so just sit in the car baby."
The word baby sent shivers up my spine and I instantly looked down. He left me and opened my door, I looked at him and sat. He came to the driver seat and sat and soon drove off.

"Suno." He said.
"Hmm." I looked.
"We're still married to them. That's the story we going by."
"But..."
"But what?"
"Our parents don't know. What if they talk to our parents?"
"They won't."
"Why?"
We were halted at a signal. He turned and put my hands on my cheek and smiled, "My innocent half wife, if they tell my Mom about the wedding, will she not ask about it?"
I nodded.
"So then won't they have to tell about the illegal marriage they were doing to you?"
Ohhh! He's right!
"Ohh, yeah." I gave a small smile and left my face and started driving.
