"My children will show you our way."

Uturu.

That's all the weird forest people had been in search for.

Your entire clan was cautious, skeptical of the deep blue skinned habitants who didn't belong with your people. Foreigners. Aliens. That's how it felt seeing them. Seeing the hybrids. It was a change from your usual mornings. Your regular routine of scavenging in the deep waters for pearls or trinkets was replaced by one of confusion. You tried not to stare but it was hard. You had never seen the sky people. Never seen a Na'vi with a fifth finger. With small eyes. It was odd. Your little siblings weren't any better- Aonung had resorted to dealing with his confusion in a rude manner, throwing remarks that made you smack his arm.

The comment he had thrown about their tails did almost make you chuckle because it really was funny how buff they seemed on the outside, but how weak they were in those specific aspects. You understood though, that they belonged to the forests and the realization makes it way to your face in a disapproving look as you hush your younger brother before he could mutter anything harsher. You round the family quietly, unable to hide your curiosity as you notice their tapered tails. Their slim arms, although the men of the group had a little more muscle form. Their chests were uniform, no ribs jutting out to help them breath under water. You frown, because there was no way they could survive in your habitat. As you near the end of the group, you notice there were kids. Siblings. You're eager to see whether there was a girl- excited when you notice one. She seemed maybe a little younger than you but you didn't mind. There wasn't much company here who were girls your age. Tsireya- your younger sister was a good friend of yours but she was still small. Your eyes trail over the foreign kids eager to find the eldest, so you could at least make friends with someone your age. However, when you think you notice him- your breath catches in your throat. You forgot what his father had called him- but there was something different about his aura.

His eyes were bigger- you noted, four fingers. He resembled his mother. Your eyes travel upwards to the straight level of his posture. His form exuded confidence and so did his body language. He's calm and collected as your mother practically scolded the family like children. You're barely listening to her either, far too busy observing how different he was compared to any Metkayina male you had ever seen. How his lower arms were frail but the upper were stronger than the reef people's. The broad stature of his shoulders leads you to think he practiced archery and you wondered if he could teach you some time too.

"Kaltxi."

Your eyes snap up to his- widened in surprise. You had been staring and who knows how obvious you had been. The boy only smiled softly bringing his right hand up, greeting you with a simple I see you gesture

"Smon nìprrte-" he murmurs softly- trying to be respectful since your mother was still going on about how much she hated the new clan's presence "-Y/N Te Äpi Ifay'ite."

You tried so hard to not let your eyes widen like saucers because he had paid attention and he knew your name. You felt terrible since you had barely payed attention to what his was.

Unable to form a coherent reply, and also out of plain fear of interaction you awkwardly nodded as a form of greeting before scurrying away and standing beside your mother.

You swallow uncomfortably, keeping your eyes trained to the ground finding it extremely awkward to make eye contact with any of the foreign people. Still, you muster up the courage to slightly tilt your head up, just enough to hopefully catch a tiny glimpse of the eldest one. To your dismay, he meets your eyes- an eyebrow raised in amusement when your cheeks flush into warm rouge and your practically burn holes into the ground beneath your feet.
