Shirina's Pov :

It had been almost three hours since I came out of his cabin. He didn't call me in after our meeting in the morning or send the termination letter to me. Atul had returned to my desk, and handed me some files to go through them and I am here doing that. Involuntarily, every ten minutes, my eyes moved to the door of his cabin, especially when when someone moved in and out. It felt like I was doing the job of security guard than of assistant.

But, I couldn't help because of the constant negative thoughts running in my mind. I scolded myself for my behaviour, which was creating trouble for me. Maybe he ignored that incident and he is not as bad as people said, I tried to pursue myself to look at the positive side.

"Abhyudit Sir is calling you to his cabin with Saxena's file." A staff member informed me, coming to my desk. And here evaporates the tiny bit of positivity I had.

Why did he call me? Because you are his personal assistant, my mind reminded me.

Whom he does not like, I added on my own. Not that I like him a lot. He was equally at fault as me, but now the tables have turned. I can't lose this job on the first day itself.

Getting up, I moved to his cabin and knocked on the door, keeping my doubts at bay. He called me inside, and there I stood in front of him, gripping the file tightly.

"So, Shirina, Did you go through the file?" He asked, glancing at me for a brief second before turning his attention back to his laptop. Is it necessary for him to always sound so dominant?

"Yes, Sir." I replied without stuttering, managing to sound confident.

He asked me a few questions relating to that which I answered well. Thankfully, in spite of my anxiousness, I had gone through the files with concentration.

"Hmm. So your mind is also as sharp as your tongue, I see." He said, finally turning his head up, and my eyes snapped towards him. Just like your memory, I added to his words in my mind. However, I couldn't ignore the fact that there was no anger on his face.

"About that day, Sir-" I didn't know what excuse to give because I had none.

"I am Sorry for my behavior." I said, and he raised his eyebrows, I don't know for what, and a smirk made its way to his lips. This is all I could do to close the matter. I have to work with him after all.

"You should be. I will dismiss that as the first mistake you made unknowingly. But remember, there is no second in my dictionary." He words and cold tone made me feel a weird sensation run through me. But, my job is safe.

"I will take care, Sir." I bowed my head, unable to keep looking in his eyes. They screamed something I don't get. It felt like there was a piece missing in the puzzle.
