For Yaman living has never been easy. The good days should never be taken for granted. He knows from experience how fragile peace and happiness tend to be.
But now, five years after Serhan's death and his successful wedding with Rüya, he finally feels like everything has fallen into place.
Life is good: he had finished his business studies at University, becoming officially an educated young man. He had decided to follow in his grandfather's footsteps to one day take care of the Soysalan hospital.
Living on the streets he could only have imagined graduating university. But here he is.
Rüya has also graduated with her degree in finances. She also works at their hospital's financial department.
It is actually quite nice to have his parents and Rüya working under the same roof.
Then there is Can. The little boy Yaman had helped deliver five years ago in that cottage.
He has seen him grow from a small baby into a toddler and a proper child. Can has already started preschool. He is turning out to be a bright boy and Yaman feels like every day Can would come up to him and show some new skill or fact he had learned that day.
One of Yaman's biggest dreams has come true about two months ago: he got married to Rüya.
They had wanted to do it for a while, but it was difficult to trust in the peace they had for a couple of years. They had also wanted Neslihan to be there, which became possible only a few months ago.
The wedding was beautiful. They had chosen to get married at the mansion as it was at the heart of their love story.
It was also the place where they wanted to live after getting married. Rüya was breathtakingly beautiful, Can behaved well and the event gathered the family together for the first time in years.
Serhan had died in the shooting incident, but the trauma left by his horrible actions made the whole family anxious about what was to come. Surprisingly nothing ended up happening.
That incident had left it's own mark in the family. Neslihan had gotten a prison sentence for shooting at Serhan.
The mitigating factors of the case brought the sentence down to just over five years.
Neslihan had not accepted Güven or her children's opposition to her confession; this is what she needed to set herself free from that man after losing Ece, her brother and father.
She had stood strong in court and taken her punishment with grace.
That's one thing Yaman admires about his mother. Of course it was difficult to accept the separation her punishment brought between them again, but at least he could visit her weekly. And every week Neslihan's face had just a touch more of her old self back. Maybe prison had been good for her in a weird way.
Yaman felt bad for his father though. He had lost Neslihan twice now. First for 20 years, now another five. But that was their fate, there was nothing to be done.
Neslihan and Güven had reunited a few months back when Neslihan was released thanks to her good behavior a little early. Yaman had given them space to get used to life together.
They seemed to have found a new rhythm, a sense of normal. As far as Yaman understood, his parents wanted to hold a wedding but Neslihan had a lot of things to get adjusted to after being gone for almost five years. And her priority was getting her children back together.
Asi had been gone for almost five years, but she came back to celebrate Yaman and Rüya's wedding. She was there with Tolga as her plus one.
Yaman knew she had gotten together with him, but seeing it in real life was another thing. He wasn't quite sure how everything happened because Asi didn't like to talk about it.
