Chapter 2

Ethan's POV:

Everyday when he came into work, Luke was there to make fun of him.

Obviously he would retaliate, but Ethan just didn't see the point to.

"At this point, he's just doing it to boost his ego." thought Ethan, waving bye to a table that was leaving.

Luckily, Kentaro was there to keep him sane enough.

"Hey Ethan, mind if I follow you for a bit? I don't want to deal with the dumb@$$es at table 18" huffed Kentaro, and Ethan chuckled.

"The Howards? They're nice!" said Ethan, walking towards the kitchen.

"To newcomers maybe! They're total jack@$$es when you stay here for a bit. Always criticizing something.." muttered Kentaro, clearly annoyed.

"Sucks for you. I'm on my break, let's go get some drinks! I'm sure Thalia wouldn't mind, right?" asked Ethan.

"Fine. Be back 5 minutes before your break ends though. On one condition too—take Luke with you two. I don't trust Kentaro to do any legal actions.." said Thalia when they asked.

Ethan's jaw dropped and Kentaro sighed dejectedly. "I love the trust you have in me, Thalia."

"Come on! Why can't you assign someone else? Lucy? Alex? H3ll I'll even take Chad!" exclaimed Ethan.

"Huh?" said Chad, poking his head in.

"F!€k off Chad!" said Thalia, Ethan, and Kentaro.

"Listen I get that you don't like Luke that much, but I've known him for practically all of my life. He's not that bad, I promise." sighed Thalia.

"She's right, tw!nk. I'm not so bad if you give me a chance." said a voice behind Thalia.

Luke stepped out from behind Thalia, and she hit him upside the head.

"Don't call him that! He's such a sweetheart, he doesn't even look—okay now I see it." hissed Thalia, switching emotions constantly.

Ethan groaned and Kentaro smiled. "Come on Ethan. Let's go get those drinks!"

Ethan swore that he saw Luke's face change, but when he looked more closely, he was his usual annoying (handsome) self.

"Huh... weird."

Ethan, Kentaro, and—unfortunately—Luke walked a few blocks to the nearest coffee shop.

"Hey, my name is Keigo what can I get you?" asked the person managing the cash register.

"Uh.. I'd like an iced coffee please." said Kentaro, and Keigo nodded.

"And you two? Also, couples have a discount." said Keigo, winking at him and Luke.

"Oh! We aren't—"

"Just order, darling." said Luke, smiling at him.

Ethan looked at him in shock.

Luke actually looked nice, and perhaps a tiny bit handsome when he's acting like this.

"U-Uh okay. I'll take a frozen peach lemonade and my.. boyfriend.. will take a frozen blue raspberry lemonade." said Ethan, gritting out the word 'boyfriend' through his teeth.

Keigo smiled warmly, and Ethan almost swore it was a smirk.

"Alright your total is.."

After paying, Ethan walked out and immediately slapped Luke in the face when they were away from the place.
