Serenity's pov.
I was bobbing my head to "Toxic" by Britney Spears as it played in the car, with my feet propped up on the dashboard and the summer wind blowing through my hair.
"When will we get there?" I asked for the hundredth time. "Please stop asking," Klaus grunted in frustration.
"It's been weeks since we've been traveling, and I'm only human. I need to rest. Let's please stop somewhere," I pleaded with him, ignoring the incredulous look Stef was giving me from the back seat.
"Fine, but only for one night," Klaus warned. I grinned, "Deal"
Soon we stopped at a rusty motel, I didn't like it, but I had to make do with what was available. We all got out of the car, and as I stretched my arm overhead and yawned, I didn't notice the looks from both of them.
I ignored the shady men in the corner looking at me and walked with Stefan and Klaus, who were glaring at them. We reached the reception and Klaus asked, "Three rooms." The receptionist replied,
"Sorry, sir, but only two rooms are available." He looked back and said, "Serenity and I will share a room, and Stefan will have a room to himself."
He bossily declared, while I glared at him and shook my head, taking the keys from the receptionist.
"Nah uh. You and Stefan will share a room, and I'll have my single room." Stefan looked at me with pleading eyes. "Serena, please don't make me share a room with him, out of all people."
He gave Klaus a nasty side-eye, but I just shook my head and walked ahead of them. My boots clinked through the wooden corridors as I stepped into the lift with the two of them. They appeared to be having a staring contest, the way they looked at each other. So romantic.
By the time our floor arrived, they were looking away from each other, resembling angry birds. I giggled at the silly thoughts and walked into the hotel room, locking the door and stretching.
I slowly removed my jeans and changed into my underwear since I couldn't sleep wearing denim. I then let my hair down from its bun and collapsed on the bed, completely exhausted from the journey.
I felt my eyelids droop and slowly close, succumbing to the dreamland I longed for.
Later that night, I woke up feeling thirsty. I looked around but couldn't find a single water bottle in the room. Frustrated, I groaned, grabbed my jeans, quickly put them on, and headed to the reception.
A few men were standing by the reception. Soon, they noticed me and gave me sultry looks, but I ignored them nonchalantly and grabbed two bottles of water from the rack.
As I turned to go up to my room, one of the men came and stood in front of me, toying with the ribbon on the strap of my shirt. I looked at him annoyed because I was really not in the mood for drama right now.
"Leave me alone," I said, glaring at him while he chuckled, showing his dirty teeth as I internally cringed. "Aww, you're so pretty. I haven't had someone so pretty in a long time."
Author's pov.
While Serenity was busy glaring at the man, she didn't notice Klaus and Stefan coming down after hearing her voice.
Suddenly, the man grabbed Serenity's waist. Just as they were both going to react, Serenity slapped the man hard on his face and kneed him in the groin, making him double over in pain.
She tsked in fake pity "Aww is the little boy hurt? I'm so sorry"
She mockingly glared at him while another man came forward, she roundhouse kicked him making him fall to the floor dramatically.
Stefan and Klaus took the two other men not sparing them and killing them instantly while they stared in shock at her.
"I-I didn't know you could do that" Stefan stuttered in utter awe looking at her while Klaus smirked lowkey proud.
"Serenity just waved her hand.
"It was nothing. Disgusting men needed to be taught," she said. She gave one last kick to the man who was cupping his jeans and walked away sassily to her room, while Klaus and Stefan were staring at each other.
Bonus Scene -
(Later when Klaus and Stefan entered the same room)
"There is only one bed now?" Klaus asked, annoyed, looking at Stefan.
"Yeah, okay. I'm taking the bed; you take the couch," Stefan declared, lying on the bed.
"No, no, no. You're taking the couch, and I'm taking the bed," he said, glaring at him.
"Whose idea was it to bring me on this trip? Yours, so you have to accommodate," Stefan said as he turned away, pulling the covers up to his chest to prepare for sleep.
"There's no way I, the first hybrid, am going to sleep on the bloody couch."
"Well, there's always a first time," Stefan replied sassily, closing his eyes.
"Shift," Klaus ordered, while Stefan shook his head.
"Nope," Klaus looked irritably at the small sofa, in which even his whole upper half wouldn't fit, and lay on the unoccupied side of the bed.
"There's no way we're sharing a bed," Stefan said, frowning.
"Well, you don't want to sleep on the couch, so adjust Ripper," Klaus said, turning away and already falling asleep, while Stefan grumbled and turned to the other side, falling asleep as well.
None of them knew how they both ended up cuddling in the morning.
I'm so so so sorry for the delay but I have exams going on soo :((
I just wanted to show in this chapter that Serenity is not "fragile" or like a damsel in distress and she can so well save herself.
