Life is but a game for me,

The levels come on with chaos.

Most of the time, but too hard to see,

Pixels fly with no specific direction.

As I try to clear the way,

Pointless, yet still sharp, shards slow me down.

Other players ask,

"What's wrong",

but I have nothing to say;

Maybe it's because I'm glitched...

Or maybe because I wasn't meant to play this part.

-----
The rings swing by, I'm moving too fast.

What is occurring is a mix of fear, tragedy, and relentless happiness of my newly found freedom.

As I feel the wind rushing through my hair, I seem to have forgotten my task.

I pause and look back at what I missed;

Friends, family, and enemies are all laid out behind me.

I try to change my path, but I can't go back...

I can never go back.

-----
I am running faster now, my thoughts rushing just the same as I am.

Maybe if I get to the end, I can restart this madness,

But it doesn't have to be this hard.

I can stop now, jump into the pit and start again.

Preparing to jump, I remember my father's rant,

"Never give up!  You keep on going 'till the end!"

Conflicted and alone now, I move right along.

-----
Too far have I gone, and too much have I lost.

This jungle of barrels to jump and coconuts to dodge

Is but one of my concerns.

This world has not hurt me;

It is only I who has lost-

Lost my farthest friends,

Lost my closet enemies,

Lost my nightmarish family.

Too lonely and selfish in the wilderness am I.

-----
Now in the sky, sword in hand,

I meet someone to help carry my burden,

But a nasty creature now rules the land.

He takes her, along with my heart-

Shattered its three pieces all over the kingdom.

Angered with having lost another close mate,

I race to collect the gold, and find my princess behind her gate.

Terrified is she, but, with the monster now defeated,

She says,

"So long, and good times" and

Pushes me into the void beneath our feet,

A small instrument to follow.

-----
Strange blocks surround me.

Colors fill the landscape, and

As sweet music flows through the instrument,

I know who I want to be.

The blocks fly by, and I put them in their places

Like my mind, and I start to sort them.

The intense feeling of my new power is amazing, but

All is well until things start to move more hurriedly.

One row after another, the blocks blow up, but more come in.

Too much for I, the game director, to handle.

The parts are moving too fast,

The blocks and tiles were not meant for this;

They expect to be led to the correct positions, but I unknowingly led them astray.

Suddenly the shapes slow each other down while more still pile up.

Voices erupt from their clumps asking each other,

"What's wrong?"

But no answers come.

They have nothing to say;

Maybe because they are glitched...

Or maybe because I was not meant to play this part.
