On the fourth of July, Oscar and Nolan decided to take Piper to the carnival they were having and leave before the fireworksshow. They walked around and played games and ate delicious hamburgers and hot dogs.

Then they came back and had a cookout with their friends. Just as they were getting ready to eat, Oscar's doorbell rang.

He opened it and was surprised to see his parents standing there.

"Hello, son." his dad said.

Oscar and Nolan exchanged a look.

"I'll take Piper outside while you discuss with your parents."

"Aren't you going to introduce me to your friend?" Oscar's mother asked sternly.

"This is my fiance' Nolan," Oscar replied with a sharp tone.

"Nice to meet you. Come on, Piper. Let's go."

"Fiance?" Oscar's dad asked.

"Don't look so surprised. You knew I was gay and that's why you kicked me out of the house."

"Oscar, don't take tone that with your father."

"Marla, it's okay."

"Matt, he's so disrespectful."

"He's standing right here," Oscar snapped.

"Anyway, I didn't kick you out of the house because you were gay-"

"Don't try to change the history, father. I know what happened. Excuse me, I have a Fourth of July party I'd like to attend with my friends and fiance."

Matt and Marla huffed and slammed the door.
