What if there was a loop in RR like it is in RQ but the loop only starts when light first appears in the universe and end at the season 2 final yes to the oders it appears normal and they do remember the time before light but is somewhat blurry  (light and soul eater and stuck together in the loop)

Ideas (more of an explanation):
The first and second loop go like in Canon with light being confused and soul eater doing his evil plan again with the next few loops light start to improve the plans of taking down void and soul eater and soul eater trying to make the machine earlier and attacking the last Steve kingdom earlier but by that point the two learned somethings like if one of them dies the loop resets and that they are stuck together with they both didn't like. It took a lot of loops so the two can at least trust each other a little and and after a lot more loop it became a brotherly bond between them (soul eater became nicer to the people he trusted). They did at one point learn a few things like who was the person that trapped them in the loop (it was the first evil) and that the powers they had in the past loop that they also have in the present loop

Head canons:

At some point both light and soul eater developed a brotherly connection

Light mental health is very very poor (I guess seeing his friends die for hundreds of times messes up with a persons mental health)

Soul eater at one point orders to his minions to leave light closes friends alone (Louis, cliff, Arron, Soren)

Snowy also is stuck with them but can't really say it (she is RR's Gerald)

The Steve leader hetas light no matter what

As the loops go on light curse slowly looses power meaning at one point he would be fully himself

The first evil is the reason they are stuck together (I'm pretty sure you guys can guess who he is :/      )

Some loops (there just created on the spot for these)

1.Run away (light runs away after he was teleported near the outpost)
2. twisted colourless guard (light finds out he can create light minions and the leaders are scared of it because they didn't want a void repeat so they kick light out and he used the light minions to recreate the colourless guard)
3.lad rat(the Steve didn't believe he was not working with the soul eater -its was back when he and soul eater aren't on good terms- so the leaders give light to the professor)
4. Light wannabe (void corrupts light before the Steves find him and sent light to be the spy for him)
5. Am annoying allay (hypno came Shortly after light did to the RR universe)
6. Alone (TFE made so that in one loop light was all alone by making the soul eater forget the past loops he did give soul eater back his memories on the next loop)
7. The palatal colors ( light merges with the RR rainbow crystal and yes he is mute in these one)
8. Ignoring the bigger enemy (light manipulates the Steves that void is a bigger enemy but light sadly "dies" doing the fight with void but actually act and just go to the soul eater -yes the soul eater minions know light is on there side but are also jealous of him for having soul eater attention- and relaxes a bit -yes the Steves lost to the darkness-)

(Should I go in to a deeper explanation about the AUs and make them full AU them just AU that are filling out a bigger AU)
