Eridan didn't know that he killed Feferi. His eyesight was poor and never changed his glasses because Fef said she liked the way he looked in them, so when he fired the wand he thought he hit a non-vital point only knocking her out while actually hitting a vital point on Sollux instead of their situation being reversed. Sollux never knew he killed her ether, due to his own death soon after.
