Section 3, Chapter 2: Backstage

"You want us to... what?" Paintbrush looked at the VERY poor handwritten notepad that MeTra gave them. "Go to Meeple and hack into the security system? ...What?"

[ You want to help us get back at Cobs, don't you? ]
"Well... YEAH, but this seems–Oh I don't knooww–ILLEGAL. I'm not doing it. And I am NOT letting Lightbulb do it either! We can get into SERIOUS trouble for this, you know."
Nocia walked closer to Paintbrush, just leaning over their shoulder a bit. It was hard to know where she was looking from her lack of actual eyes. "Tossing a sentient robot from MILES up high is fine then?"

Paintbrush flinched when she peered over them. "Well--NO, of course not! I-I never said that! It's just... you're trying to force two VERY inexperienced people into doing this!"
[ So don't get caught, silly! ]
"Why can't you just get TEST TUBE! Or--or-"

MeTra smiled with its eyes as it snapped its fingers cheerily, transporting the two to MeCloud.

There was a flash of light in front of them. They blinked, dazed as they turned around. The brush rubbed their eyes and their environment settled in front of them. Wooden floor... grey walls... tables... posters. They were inside of MeCloud's first room.

"Damn it."

"Thanks for the lift, buddy!" Lightbulb was already walking to the end of the room.

Paintbrush JUMPED, not expecting Lightbulb to be right beside them. "LIGHTBULB! Jeez..."

"So... what? Does MeTra just want us to..hack into a SECURITY system by ourselves? We're not electric! Well... YOU are, but... how do they expect us to–"

"Shhh! Paint-ster, relax!" Lightbulb stopped walking to spin back to Painty. "I got this! Just follow me!"

"What makes you so sure? Did you take hacking lessons while on the show or something...?"

The two started to walk down MeCloud. The store seemed empty, so there wasn't much to worry about regarding getting caught. But Paintbrush was still looking left to right, just in case.

"Nope! No hacking!"

They made it to the elevator. Lightbulb pressed the up button and stepped back beside Paintbrush, who looked melancholy. They were stuck looking at the huge poster and quote that was printed onto the metal elevator doors.

"The people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do."

They reminisced on the quote.

The doors let out a 'ding!' and Lightbulb grabbed Paintbrush's hand. She briskly entered the elevator before the doors could close.

"Lightbulb. You're... not seriously considering pulling through with this, are you?" They looked at Lightbulb who was looking straight at the door.

"Don't worry! The robot's nice! Ha-he won't kill us or anything!"
"Lightbulb... This could get us fined, or jailed... whatever MeTra wants us to do isn't going to turn out well. Let's... let's go back, Lighty–" They reached their hand to the button to floor one.

Lightbulb touched their hand. "Hey! It'll be alright! Just trust me! I think you'll like him too! We're not doing anything bad!" She smiled at Paintbrush, letting go of their hand.

They only sighed, praying she was right. "Alright."

The doors opened to the third floor, with a light 'woosh.'
