I woke up under some covers and not on James' lap anymore. I was in his king size bed, but he was missing. My phone was buzzing like crazy in my pocket for some reason. I took it out to see text messages and dms from a bunch of people. I clicked on Taniya's and froze when I read the message.

Omg I just saw James' post

You let him post that??

I quickly went to Instagram and the first post to show up on my feed was one from James. The first picture was a plate of chicken alfredo, the next was Moana on the tv. The last one was a selfie showing me laying against his chest and his lips on my forehead. All that was in the caption was a blue heart. There were about 30 comments.

'Omg so cute!'

'I always shipped them'

'You two belong together'

Every comment was surprisingly supportive. Even some of his football friends were saying nice things. The realization hit that he had just came out. He did it in a weird way, but he did it nonetheless. I felt my body start to heat up and I knew my face was bright red.

"Good morning beautiful." I jumped when I heard James' voice. There he was leaning against the door with his arms crossed. He only had a towel wrapped around his waist, his chest glistening with water. I couldn't keep my eyes off of him. It blew my mind how perfect he was. He walked over to his dresser and dropped his towel. I quickly looked away, I don't know why but it didn't feel right to look at him while he was dressing.

"I saw your post," I muttered, looking back over to see him pulling some black sweatpants on. He turned around and smiled.

"Yeah, I hope you're okay with it." He walked over and climbed onto the bed beside me. I laid my head on his chest and rested my body on his side.

"You didn't have to." I spoke under my breath. His fingers ran through my hair.

"I did. I want to prove to you that I want a relationship. I don't care about how other people feel." I couldn't help but smile from the words coming out of his mouth. That smile quickly faded when my mind wandered to the series of events over the past weeks. I just wanted to forget about all of it, but I knew that would be impossible.

"James, please don't hurt me again," I mumbled weakly, trying not to cry. He turned over and made eye contact with me.

"I won't Holden, I promise." He smiled while moving my hair out of my face. He leaned in and placed his lips on mine. I scooted closer as his arms wrapped around me. He started to move over my body, his leg moving in between mine. His lips moved down my face and to my neck. I moaned and wrapped my legs around him. He slowly pulled my shirt up and started to rub my stomach. A thought suddenly popped into my head. It had been eating me alive since that day and I just can't let it go. I carefully pushed on his chest, making him stop.

"Did you really not have any feelings for me before the party?" He sighed and got off of me, sitting against the bed frame.

"It's complicated. I guess you could say I didn't realize it until the party," he mumbled while looking away slightly, a blush on his face.

"Why didn't you just tell me?" I asked and sat beside him.

"I... I was scared. I didn't want to lose the friendship we had, but I guess I kinda made that happen." I placed my hand on his thigh, causing him to smile.

"Did you have feelings?" He looked over intently. I slowly nodded my head.

"I think it was in the back of my head the whole time. I enjoyed those kisses a little too much." he snickered and placed a kiss on my lips.
