I feel the need to protect her overwhelm me. I won't let anything happen to Ella. Nothing at all.

"Hey, love, look at me." I gently cup her face, tilting it so she's looking up at me. "I will protect you, I promise." Her tears spill down her flushed cheeks and her small sniffles make my heart collapse, cave in on itself.

I shake my head, making sure that I have no fear or anger in my expression.

--

After settling Ella doing, making sure she is calm, I head to my office, note in hand.

The fact that someone knows that Ella is here, comes with immense danger for, mainly, Ella. I won't let my father, or her parents, take her back to that inhuman prison.

The first thing that comes to my mind, is to tell Nazeera. She is the only one who I trust with this information, mainly because she's the only one, apart from her idiotic boyfriend, Kenji, know about Ella's presents here on base.

So, I head over to Nazeera's office, knocking on her door. "Nazeera!" I whisper shout, through the door.

Seconds later, the door opens and there stands Nazeera. "Aaron?" She gives me a questioning look, looking at the note that's clenched in my fist. "What's got you so angry? Is it Lena again?"

I shake my head. "No, look." I pass her the piece of paper.

After she sees and reads the note, she looks at me with a serious and worried expression. "What the fuck?"

I nod. "Ella said it was slipped under my bedroom door, whilst we were in the meeting."

"Is she okay?" Nazeera passes the note back to me. "She must be really freaked out."

I sigh, "she was really freaked out, I managed to calm her down though."

Nazeera gestures for me to come into her office, so no one would overhear our convostaion.

"So do you have any ideas who might have done this?" She questions.

I shake my head. "No, but I will get to the bottom of this!"

She huffs in approval. "I don't doubt that."

I shake my head. "Please don't tell your boyfriend, I don't like his as it is, let alone if he makes some idiotic comment." I groan. "If he does, I might as well kill him."

"Yeah yeah, whatever - before you kill Kenji, how about you put a bullet through Lena's head?"

I actually agree with that. "That would be satisfactory!" I hum. "Plus, a world without her in my love seems like a much better one."

Nazeera nods, chuckling in agreement. "You shouldn't leave Ella alone for this long, she's vulnerable and someone knows about her."

At this a sudden surge of panic rushes through me. "Oh gosh- I didn't even-" before I finish what I want to say, I'm rushing out of Nazeera's office door, rubbing towards my own bedroom.

"Aaron?" Emmaline's voice calls from down the corridor. "You look all worked up, is Lena being annoying again?"

Emmaline is the person I least wanted to run into right now.

"You seem... I don't know, terrified." She seems to turn more serious. "Is everything okay?"

I plaster a smile on my face... well, what I call a smile, anyone else would call it a strained grin. "Seriously, it's nothing - just in a rush." I try and hint that I need her to leave me alone. "I'm sorry Emmaline, but I need to get going."

She shows me an apologetic smile. "Right, sorry." She steps aside and I rush past her, without even telling her thank you, or telling her that I don't mean to be rude.

Once I, finally, reach my bedroom, I pull the key out of my pocket - unlocking the thick, metal door.

Once the door is firmly shut behind me, I call out. "Ella?" I see she's not in the bedroom. "Ella, love!" I call, slightly louder.

It's not until I hear a soft humming, I register the sound of the shower running. Ella hums to a tune that I don't recognise.

I'm just so relieved she's alright.

I knock on the bathroom - en-suite - door, opening it only a crack so I can't see in and make her feeling uncomfortable. "Ella, are you okay, love?" My voice is slightly raised so she can hear me over the shower.

I hear a small giggle. "I'm okay Aaron, don't worry."

I breathe out a sigh of relief. After hearing her voice, a voice that's telling me she fine - that she's safe - I sink down, to sit onto the side of the bed. Phew.

As long as Ella's okay, I am as well.

Little did I know...
