It had been a week since all that had happened, and nothing really important happened since then.

Minus the fact that Megan had been clinging to Carl 24/7. Honestly, props to him for being able to deal with it.

They might not be dateing now, but they will be soon, I know that much for sure.

"You know that whole... 'I can change him' thing." I said out loud, as I had Oli resting on my knee, bouncing it, trying to wind him.

"Maybe that can be the case for Megan. Maybe Carl can change her?" I sighed, looking down to Oli as he was just looking up at me with his adorable brown eyes.

I let out another sigh, seeming to be doing that a lot today.

Veronica was out, and she dragged Carl with her to help with the food shopping, proply to make him carry the bags.

When Oli had finally burped, I smiled down at him, picking him up and gentally placing him down on his stomach on a play mat we had.

Standing back up, I looked around for something else to do.

My eyes locked to the bread bin as I made my way over, grabbing the slice pan and taking out some bread, putting it into the toaster.

After it had finally popped, I buttered it, put ham, chicken, cheese, and some more healthy looking stuff. Then putting it on a plate, trying to make it look nice.

With the plate of sandwitch, I had the way to my Dad's room. Hesitating before knocking on the door and slowly opening it.

The curtains were already open, Veronica must have opened them, I thought.

"Hi, Dad. I brought you up some food." I said, trying to smile softly at him, placing it down on his bedside table.

I watched closely, my eyes treaseing every mark on his face, looking for a sign of anything... even anger.

My eyes scanned the wrinkles on his face, to the mole on his cheek, looking at the nasal cannula on his nose.

(Nasal Cannula: a device that gives you additional oxygen through your nose)

"How are you feeling?" I asked gently. Slowly making my way closer to him to grab his hand.

A small scoff escaped his lips at my works as he locked a brow at me. "How do you expect me to feel, y/n. Hm? What do you want me to say? To do? We all know that -" He cut himself off before he said more.

   Not wanting to say more.

But he didn't need to... because I already knew.

   I knew what was happening.

Or more accurate, what is going to happen.

I know I don't take things seriously at times, but that never meant I was dumb.

   I knew.

He opened his mouth to say more, before I beat him to it. "I hope you enjoy your food, Dad." I said, giving him a soft smile, a genuine one.

I left the room, closing the door behind me. My hand slipped off the handle, falling limp by my side.

It was a mean, cruel thing I was thinking right now. I knew I shouldn't think this, but I couldn't help it.

   Seeing my father like that.

Sometimes, I wish he stayed with my mam.
