*Kalama*

I awoke with a start, rolling over to find empty space. Caspian wasn't in bed. The sheets were cool to the touch. I pushed the blankets back. Moonlight seeped in through the curtains, casting the room in a silvery glow. I slowly got up, my body aching. The pack house was quiet as I stepped into the hall and opened the door to the room next to ours. Soft music played. Caspian sat in a rocking chair. The moonlight laminating his face. I smiled as he looked at me. I bent down, placing a light kiss on the forehead of the newborn pup he held, my fingers brushing the already thick black hair he had. I placed one on Caspian’s lips. “Is he okay?” I whispered. Caspian smiled.

“He's perfect. Just wanted his dad.” I smiled again, as he got up, careful to not disturb the sleeping pup. I followed I'm to the crib, watching as he laid the pup down. “Sleep well, Kyren.” The pup on the left wiggled, sinsing her brother was back, her eyes opened just enough to reveal their blue color, before closing again.

“Good night, Lara.” I whispered, brushing my fingers along her little fist. I wrapped my arms around his, laying my head on his shoulder. We stood there watching our pups sleep. Kyren had come first. He’d been prefect. Caspian burst with pride at his newborn son. Almost five minutes later, Lara surprised us. She was smaller, but healthy and that was all that mattered. As I looked at them nothing else mattered.

Elliot was still on the loose and Samuel Blake was down in the cells, but all of those were things that could be dealt with later. For now, this was all that mattered. My mate stood next me, looking at our pups, I felt nothing but love and bliss. “Come on. We should let them sleep.” Caspian whispered. I smiled, nodded and followed him to the door. I took one more look at the sleeping pups, before closing the door, and followed my mate back to bed. He held me close as we both drifted off to sleep. For now Green Grove, my pack. My family, was safe.
