"are you fucking kidding me?" josh, amelia's boyfriend shouted, forehead vein prominent as she rolled her eyes.

"can you relax? it's not like i knew they'd be there and you're acting as if something would've happened, you weirdo. who do you think i am?"
"a fucking whore," he spat, no longer looking at her as he returned his attention to the football playing on the tv, occasionally taking another sip of his beer.

she held back from saying any smart remarks despite how bad she wanted to, knowing that arguments with him drunk would never end well, and so she instead made her way to the staircase.

"no. stay in here, we always end up playing better when you're in the room," he pointed to the sofa beside his arm chair as she laughed.
"i want to sleep mate."
"please baby?" his whole demeanour had changed now as his face softened, causing confusion to the girl.

she sat down nervously; recognising the pet name only ever being used moments before things would end up getting physical.

neither of them spoke as the second half of the match between borussia dortmund and bayern munich took place; a third goal for dortmund by a jadon sancho.

her boyfriend was already pissed at her and now his team was losing. we can all guess what that might've lead to.

-

"yeah and then as soon as it got passed to me- bam! i'm too fucking good," jadon gassed himself, his counsellors face a mix of amusement and impatience.

"i'm happy you're happy but you know we've got to talk about other emotions you've been feeling too?" she pressed, hearing him scoff.
he patted his chest, smiling smugly, "triumph."

a knock at the door interrupted the pair; both curious as they still had over half of their session to go.

manning's head popped through the doorway, her vibe a complete contrast to what sancho gathered when they briefly met last week.

"alyssa i'm so sorry, i meant to text you id be late but my phones kind of-" she laughed awkwardly, pulling the electronic out of her pocket to show it had been snapped in half.

the boy laughed loudly, "fucking hell, you must be strong. how did you manage that?"

the girls exchanged a glance, the therapist coming to her rescue, "i've got time after this shift amelia. wait in the lobby for thirty-five minutes?"

she nodded, disappearing without exchanging a word to jadon, a second time.

"what's wrong with her?" the football player started to take their lack of interactions to offence.

"we're talking about you."
"yeah and i love that, honestly, it's great; a hobby even. but what? is she alright?"

alyssa sighed, "breach of confidentiality. carry on telling me about that goal of yours."
"oh so now you wanna hear it?" he laughed, watching her shake her head as their conversation got back on track.

-

jadon left his session smiling, realising it did feel good to have someone you could say anything to without the fear of being judged. he's never had that before.

as he walked through the building, he recognised amelia sat in the far corner asleep. he laughed to himself, using this time as an opportunity to speak to her. he didn't know what it was but he wanted to badly, maybe she had really hurt his ego.

he tapped her and she jumped, shooting him an automatic dirty look, "what?"
"alyssa's free now, you wanted to speak to her?"
she relaxed, nodding, "oh, yeah. thank you."
and before he could say anything else, she had already left.
