"So you're telling me I leave for two weeks and an evil hybrid sacrifices a bunch of people?!
Damon Salvatore crosses his arms, leaning against the wall with his usual smirk. His extremely blue eyes don't leave mine.
My life has become completely different ever since Damon and Stefan Salvatore moved back into Mystic Falls. I was living a semi- normal teenage life with my friends until they came in and spilled their secret.
They're vampires.
Of course the one boy Elena would learn to love after her breakup with Matt Donovan would turn out to be a vampire. When I found out about Stefan, I was the first one to suggest staking him in the heart.
Elena wouldn't let me. She accepted them, and I eventually learned to also. They're not the evil type of vampires (I'm still not sure about Damon though, he surprises me from time to time even though he's my best friend).
Them turning out to be vampires haven't been the only strange thing to happen in Mystic Falls. Bonnie is a witch, Caroline is a vampire, and Tyler is a werewolf.
I could go on and on, or name many different deaths that are all due to supernaturals. It would take forever.
This place isn't safe, but it's home. I don't think any vampire or werewolf can change that, because none of us plan on leaving our home behind.
I may still be in Mystic Falls, but I lost my house. I life with the Salvatores, which is something that I never expected to happen in my life.
When my parents denied, Stefan thought it was only right to take me in. I fought him over and over, but he insisted on not taking no for an answer.
"Stefan. Do you think I want to live with two vampires after what happened to my parents?!"
He sighs, because he knows I'm right. He knows that this is something that might only make me feel worse. Stefan and Damon may protect Elena the most, but they're protectors of everyone at heart. They'll never admit it, but once they grow close to someone they'll feel the urge to keep them out of harm's way.
It's rare, but I see it. I see it with Elena, Bonnie, Caroline, me....
"No, but you don't really have a choice, Juliette. You don't have anyone to live with."
"I can live alone."
"You know that's not true."
"Ok, then I'll ask Elena if I can live with her."
Stefan is clearly getting upset. "Elena can't protect you. I wasn't able to protect your parents, so I need to protect you."
"I'm sure Elena wouldn't love the idea of me living with her boyfriend."
