"Guys," Kelly said to the camera as she lay in the hospital bed. "So I've been having the worst contractions all day, which is expected as my due date is tomorrow, which makes it Christmas Eve. They were bad, though, so Lamelo took me to the hospital."

Kelly turned the camera to Lamelo, who was asleep on the sofa bed in the room. Chuckling, she turned the camera back to herself.

"That was almost 12 hours ago. The contractions have died down, thanks to the epidural, so now it's the waiting game. I'm halfway dilated so far and it's 11:30, so it looks like I'm having a Christmas baby. Mom and Dad will be happy with this gift."

Just then, Chris and Jasmine walked in, excitement all over their faces.

"About time" she turned off the camera, and wanting to enjoy the moment with no distractions.

"I'm sorry my love. I had to dodge some last minute shoppers and then it started snowing outside. It's a winter wonderland out there. Perfect for a Christmas baby." Jasmine said.

They all shared a laugh, the tension in the room easing a little. The hours ticked by, the room filled with quiet chatter and laughter. The nurses came in every once in a while to check on Kelly and the baby, giving updates. Lamelo woke up and joined the conversation, his parents arriving a little bit after.

As midnight approached, the excitement grew as well as the exhaustion. Kelly closed her eyes, taking deep breaths, focusing on the joy that awaited her. She had dozed off, waking up every once in a while as a contraction bit.

At midnight, a nurse entered the room with a bright smile. "Merry Christmas, everyone!" she said cheerfully, Kelly's eyes opening tiredly. "Kelly, it looks like your baby is ready to join the world. The doctor is getting ready"

Now fully awake, Kelly's heart raced with a mix of nerves and excitement. She nodded, holding Lamelo's hand tightly who had a big smile on his face. Their parents sent their congratulations before stepping out the room

"Let's do this," Kelly said, squeezing Lamelo's hand as another contraction hit.

"You got this" Lamelo kissed her head and Kelly smiled at him a bit.

The room was full of movement, with the medical team preparing for the delivery. Dr. Ramirez arrived, her presence calming Kelly a bit.

"Kelly, you're doing great," she said, positioning herself for the delivery. "Just remember to breathe and push when you feel the contractions. You've got this."

With each contraction, Kelly pushed with all her strength, just wanting this to be over with. The pain was intense, but she focused on the prize—the moment she would finally hold her baby in her arms.

It felt like an eternity, but finally, she heard the most beautiful sound: her baby's first cry. Tears of joy streamed down her face as the nurse placed the tiny, wriggling bundle on her chest.

"Welcome to the world, little one," Kelly whispered, her voice choked with emotion. "Merry Christmas. You're the best gift mommy could ever get"

Lamelo leaned in, his eyes shining with tears. "Hey little man."

The couple took in the little boy in Kelly's arms, covered in blood and fluids, not that the cared, overwhelmed with love. They were parents now. To a little boy at that. She glanced at Lamelo, who was gazing at their baby with a look of pure awe.

"Do you want to hold him?" She asked and he nodded, taking the baby into his arms, holding Eryx like Kelly taught him to.

Kelly wished she could stay in this moment forever. It was beautiful seeing them bond for the first time. Soon, Eryx was taken to get cleaned and Kelly was moved to recovery where everyone was able come in.
