The night was calm in Pentos. The moon was holding court with the stars. Prince Daemon was sitting in his wife's chambers and playing with his daughters. It had only been five months since his wife gave birth to the twins. He named the elder one Baela, after his father and the younger one was named Rhaena by his wife.

Lady Laena stood behind him and rested her hands on his shoulders

Lady Laena stood behind him and rested her hands on his shoulders. She said, "It seems that my Lord Husband has no time to spare for his wife."

Daemon chuckled. "I wanted to see my wife but my daughters don't want me to go away. They want to play with me," he said.

Laena cleaned her younger daughter's face and said, "They look alike, don't they? I get confused at times."

Daemon made his wife sit beside him. He took her hand in his and said, "I talked to the midwife today. You went into early labour and our girls are sickly. We need to wait for another moon before moving to Driftmark. Laena, you must understand that I only want your happiness. I would love to take you back to Driftmark to see you smile. But our situation demands patience. One moon will pass in the blink of an eye. The girls will grow stronger and you will also get more time to heal."

"I can understand," Laena said, nodding her head. She added, "I will do as you say." Then she kissed her husband's cheek and embraced him.

Just like the Rogue Prince had said, one month passed swiftly. And while they lived in the damp castle of Driftmark, months appeared to just peek at them.

It had been a year since his daughters had brought the joy of fatherhood to him. Daemon looked at the setting sun and realised that his days of carelessness were over. He was a man with responsibilities who needed to secure the future of his daughters.

He heard a roar and looked at the sky to see his wife on Vhagar, the majestic beast of the Conqueror's days. He thought about something for a while and sat down with a quill and paper.

The Small Council:

"Your Grace, there is an important matter that requires your attention," the Grand Maester said.

King Viserys said, "And what might it be, Grand Maester?"

Grand Maester Mellos said, "Prince Daemon has sent a raven. He has requested you to allow his daughters to be presented to the court."

Viserys said, "Write back to him. Tell him that I have granted his wish. He can bring his daughters and present them to the court."

Lord Lyonel Strong was not pleased with the king's response. He said, "Your Grace, I must remind you that Prince Daemon was banished from the court not just once, but twice, and for very good reasons. I don't think that bringing him back will be very wise."

Lord Tyland Lannister spoke up, "Lord Hand is right, Your Grace. Prince Daemon is too chaotic to be kept by your side. I think that refusing him will be the best."
