"Sir!" A young policemen hurried, thumping urgent knocks upon the door of his officer.
"Come in."
At the permission, he didn't skip a beat in getting quick to inform and barged in. "We have an immediate emergency, Sir!"
Within the nightly cloak of darkness, straightened at the threshold of a corporate highrise tower, he was dexterous with his task, clicking skate his young fingers gently over the slanted tablet heightened till his torso, which was the main device of access control system to grant him a legal way in.
He was a young boy with an athletic figure, suave gait, and pleasantly roguish features. His manners oozed of nothing but intrigued wildness which was in partial to his past juvenile days.
His illuminating look was sectionally veiled within the foggy halo underneath his melanoid cap with graphic initials 'ZI', which had roughly shadowed his meticulous eyes of screaming starlights.
"What's wrong?" The young officer veered up his gaze at the desperate policeman ahead.
The fresh moonlight slowly trailed in through the heavy ambience, prior to lightly brightening his look of mild concern.
The setting was cordoned by two guards, one assigned with the door and the another positioned at the street corner.
The guard closest by was already displaced, for he was sensing some vocal beats, like low murmurs from one side to then acknowledging the car security beeps from the other side. His inquisitive stroll upon reaching the parking lot was further messed when his boot accidentally stomped over a gum, glueing sticky his patrolling.
For the matter of another guard, he forever remained oblivious over his social media affairs inside his booth to notice anything around the environs.
Whereas, the soul awaiting his entry in was skimming over his mobile screen now to click a particular option and after consuming a moment further, the required tune chimed around through the security device, calling the boy's attention to notify about the access granted to him.
"A Major Burglary, Sir!" The policeman seemed a newbie to be handling such defense cases, vivid in his jittery pulsation about how to tackle it, yet his enthusiasm was palpable alongside.
His reflexive gaze skated high above and along the white laser lights of far distant shopping malls radiating the sky above him.
The night was resplendent and he wished to mirror the same throughout.
Considering the digital influence to overtake most of the security measures, the physical resistance was low to easily overpower them while the technological barriers was a matter of no flunk to him.
The fake ID card and fingerprints scanned thoroughly like a carbon copy without an input to one of the authentic entries as he briefly reminisced his acquaintance with the traitor security personnel member who was bribed to share his administrative credentials lately, bringing an involuntary satiation to the criminal's face.
"Come clear, Arhaan!" The young officer was half assured of something trivial emerged from the residential sectors which could be already done and dusted, prior to the submissions for investigation.
Yet, the twitching sensation of the policeman unsettled him.
His operative fingers typed off some definite clicks, reviving the device to display back its routine channel.
His senses renewed tenfold for the steps ahead of him, his eyes sizing the sedate tower of dim glimmers to be breached this time.
"It's immediate there in the uptown!" The phrase 'uptown' knitted the officer's brows.
His strides were instant, disappearing within the elaborated lobby area to swiftly skip up through the staircase beside the electronic lift.
He could not be more enthralled with the daze of gripping his first pick against one of the business tycoon of their metropolis.
"It's from the headquarter of The Gravels Holding." The officer's hand froze midway upon the page of his notepad. The news flashed like the lightning bolts and broke his senses like thunder roars.
Everything screamed of a hailing storm when the officer shot up from his seat. "What the --? How?"
After stepping into the destined corridor, his hand had angled a small screen to a degree up as his eyes assessed it, double rechecking the disabled surveillance systems and motion detectors before he ducked the screen back into his denim pocket.
"He is a hacker!"
"Shit!" The police officer snapped right towards his telephone device, as if he had already reached to the villain.
His legs moved as he mentally treaded over the fragments of his memory, recalling all the nooks and crannies of the building to undertake clean turns and avoid any run over.
His microscopic gaze scrutinized through the bright and dull corridors, studying the security lights around with a skim when he continued his way towards the destined office.
Without an ounce of hesitation, he stepped ahead of a door, obscuring it behind his resolute shoulders.
With nonoperative facial recognition and retinal scanners, his digital tacts had sliced out an aisle for him when his hand had smoothly clicked open the dark room.
The officer played a series of keys over his telephone and the policeman fidgeted to ring some emergency alternate to what his officer was doing.
"He is spotted through the front tower. I grieve, we can't contact them."
A giant corporate logo outlined with soft LED flares came aligning his gaze transfixed at it like a catching silhouette in the dim office.
He stepped inside with an electric beat, plucking out his cap which layered his hairs above like a whimsical fancy.
His visage drifted to his side wall of black tinted transparency, catching his glassy reflection over it where he noticed his triumphant smile growing to enhance him some more.
The policeman's voice raised in the end. "We Need To Hurry!"
"Hurry?" The officer failed to figure about why the hurry now when the damage was done.
He leisurely walked out of the tower with a raw poise underneath his breezing hair wisps and the celestial starlights as he balanced his backpack strap over his one shoulder.
His eyes cautiously glanced, manoeuvering towards the faraway guard still scrolling through his mobile while the another one tangled somewhere with the small chipped speakers to keep him engrossed and not return anytime soon.
He pulled out his former device and clicked again, switching everything back to functionality.
"Zamaray Idris was never here."
The policeman met the officer's gaze. "He's on a run!"
