Y/n and Hermione were officially back in the Granger home.

Y/n dropped her trunk down in her bedroom and plopped down on the bed. As much as she loved Hogwarts, it was good to be home. Her walls were a soft off white and there were windows letting sunlight touch every corner of the room. Her favorite color could be spotted all over the room in posters, books, knick knacks, and pillows. She had lots of framed photos around her room too, but her favorite was one in particular of her family.

Hermione and Y/n were both little girls in the photo and were wearing matching dresses. Both their heads of wild curly hair are tamed down in neat styling. Their mum was wearing a simple, but stunning dress with pearl earrings and hair down simply. Their dad had a suit on and looked rather dapper. What really made the photo so amazing were the incredibly large and genuine smiles on all their faces.

Y/n smiled lovingly at the memory before standing up from her bed.

"Mione? Do you want to make some Christmas cookies?" Y/n knocked on Hermione's door.

The door practically flew open. Hermione raced out, dragging Y/n down the stairs with her as she went. Y/n laughed at her enthusiasm.

"Okay, I'm going to get all the ingredients together and you're going to give me the scoop on how your year's been." Y/n smiled as she rummaged through their cabinets and fridge looking for the sugar, flour, baking powder, eggs, milk, and vanilla extract.

"I've done well in every class so far, but it feels like some of the Professors are working against me. The one class I really have trouble with is flying class. I prefer to stay on the ground with my books." Hermione began to speak as they measured out and poured in the amount of flour and baking powder they needed.

"I'm very proud of you, Hermione." Y/n sad giving her a kiss on the top of her head before grabbing a beater and another bowl. "Snape is a git and always has been, but it doesn't reflect on you so you just have to try and ignore it."

"There's something wrong about him, Y/n. He's hiding something. Sometimes I think he's trying to harm Harry." Hermione confided to Y/n, putting down the ingredients and just looking at her. Y/n put down what she was holding too to respond.

"He's a shady guy and a total prick, but -and as much as I hate to defend him- he wouldn't physically harm a student. He definitely has a weird vendetta against Harry for some reason though and he's certainly not against mentally harming his students." Y/n sighed thinking about their weird, complicated professor.

"I'm just not sure about him." Hermione added, feeling unable to trust him for obvious reasons.

"Well, you're a very smart girl, Hermione. If you think something's off about him then keep a close eye on him." Y/n advised. "For now, why don't we talk about something more fun? Maybe that Weasley boy you're friends with?" Y/n winked and nudged her hip against her sisters as she went back to baking.

"I don't know what you're talking about Delia." Hermione denied, but her bright pink cheeks gave her away.

"Sure you don't." Y/n winked before beating the sugar and melted butter together. The electric beater was so loud they couldn't really talk while it was going.

"Why don't you add the eggs and vanilla extract?" Y/n yelled over the noise to Hermione who somehow understood her and did so.

After a couple of minutes of agonizingly loud noise, everything was done being mixed together. Then they talked while rolling the dough out into little circles. They couldn't relax for a minute cause they had to get started on the icing while the cookies were baking.

"Mm what's that smell?" Mrs. Granger asked as she and her husband stepped out of the closed living room where they had been wrapping presents.

"Hermione and I are making cookies. We're about to decorate them. Do you guys want to join?" Y/n smiled excitedly.
