3rd POV

The group arrived at the now destroyed Dragneel household, quickly rushing inside to see the disheveled man wailing loudly.
The man turned upon hearing his friends enter the room. "The-y're go-ne." He stumbled out. "I wasn't fast enough." He cried loudly. Wendy was one of the first to speak up. She walked over and placed her hand on his shoulder. "Natsu we have to go look for them. We have to move quickly before the scent goes away. The trail will be fresh we have to start looking." She said quietly. Knowing well that her nose wasn't nearly as strong as his and the smell had already began to fade.
Natsu knew she was right and stood up wiping his eyes with the back of his hand. "Yeah we have to." He said lowly. He quickly picked his things up and headed towards the door followed by his companions.
"Wendy..." Erza said pulling her back slightly away from the group. "With how much blood is here, what are the chances that Lucy and the baby are alive still...." She said lowly as to not let Natsu hear her asking this. She didn't want to worry the man anymore than he already was. Wendy quietly shed a tear and looked up at Erza "Not a very good chance. If Lucy is alive she needs medical attention right away. I don't think the baby made it. Among Lucy's smell, and the mysterious man, I smell a mix of her and Natsu that's different from Nashi. I don't think the baby made it, and I think Natsu knows that...." She quietly put her head down after seeing the expression on the red heads face. Erza reached out and gave Wendy a tight hug. "Let's not mention this to Natsu he's already dealing with some things on his own and he needs to focus on finding Lucy right now."
Erza finished with a sigh. She knew this was not the best decision but she was right Natsu needed to worry about his wife and daughter right now.
They searched all night and all day for months on end. They never found any trace of little Nashi and Lucy. They never gave up especially Natsu. He refused to believe that they were anything but fine. It had been a year since the disappearance when suddenly something happened that made everyone stop.
Natsu was at the guild trying to do some research and asking everyone for any clues on where his girls would be. However he was coming up short. No one knew what happened or where they had gone. They just disappeared into thin air. Natsu was not going to give up though and kept searching. This worried the guild greatly causing them to make Natsu rest at least once a week at the guild.
Natsu had been there for about an hour before he finally got up and went for the door before Masters hand shot out and picked him up. "GRAMPS PLEASE!" He shouted but it went onto deaf ears. "PLEASE I NEED TO SAVE THEM... please I need them back." He begged once more. Makarov looked at the poor boy with sympathy but knew he was doing the right thing for his child.
"Natsu we've been over this so many times. You can't find them if you are completely worn out and defeated from lack of taking care of yourself. I know this is hard but you aren't the only one looking." As Makarov said this the door flew open.
A figure standing in the doorway confused everyone, but the dragon slayers who instantly recognized the smell of a comrade. Natsu quickly got out of the masters fist and ran over to the figure now realizing it was Loki. The lion spirits head was down and his eyes were covered by his hair. Something wasn't right and Natsu sensed it as he got closer. Natsu was about arms length away from him when he stopped.
"Loki...... where is she. Where is my wife and daughter..." Natsu asked desperately hoping for something that would lead him in the right direction. "Natsu..... I'm so sorry I failed my master..." Loki choked out. The feeling in Natsu's stomach growing more and more. "What do you mean..... Loki where is Lucy and Nashi...." Natsu cried. Loki carefully held out a ring full of the keys Lucy once held so dear to her. The pit worsening every second. "Natsu she's gone... she's not coming back.... Her keys they all felt the connection we had break.. only a few things can break a connection between a spirit and their master. Either willingly or through death.....Natsu she would never break her connection with us.." Loki trailed off. "No no no....." Natsu said already broken. Loki quickly fell to the ground "Natsu I'm so sorry I wasn't able to protect them." Loki said tears falling from his eyes. "The-them.. they both.... Oh god.. No...." Natsu quickly fell to the ground not able to hold it in any longer. "NOOO..... not my family WHY." Natsu shouted completely and utterly defeated. He couldn't understand why someone would do this. Nashi was so young and had so much to live for Lucy too. They had taken everything from him. He would never forgive the man who had taken his whole world from him.
