25.

Here, I am cuddling a man and entertaining his thoughts of me being pregnant. He was very happy when I told him that I had never slept with anybody in the last six months. Men and their egos. Abstaining was my choice, not because I was waiting for him or something.

"Do you think it's a girl? I want a girl." You could hear the excitement in his voice. The possibility of me being pregnant is making me feel scared. Like, I don't want a baby, at least not now.

"What if there's no baby? I mean, my stomach is still pretty much the same, and I only vomited once because you were annoying me." He laughs as if I cracked a joke. I'm serious here. He's enjoying this because he will never carry a baby in his life.

"Okay, firstly, you've been feeling like something is moving in your stomach. You find food smelling funny, you have a short fuse, and you're glowing. Those are pretty much signs of a pregnant woman, plus I can feel the baby." I turn around to stare at him.

"You can feel the baby? You're lying, right?" He shakes his heard while grinning.

"How?" That's the only sensible question. He's not a doctor, just a prince, architect, and dodgy businessman. There's no way he can feel babies unless he's a wizard. He did mention that he comes from a family of supernaturals. OMG? What if my baby becomes a wizard as well?

"Lie on your back, and I'll prove it." I hesitantly do as he asked. He hovers over me before lifting my pajama shirt and staring at my stomach while I stare at him, trying to figure out what the hell he is doing.

He gently places his hand on my stomach and closes his eyes. Soon, I feel the thing kicking. That can't be the baby. He opens his eyes and smirks. I push him off me and sit upright.

"Did you see? My baby knows me." I leave him on the bed and run to the ensuite bathroom. I close the door once I'm inside. I walk to the wall mirror to see my stomach. When I carefully examine it,it's no longer that flat. You could see that I'm a little bloated. I was so lost in my heartbreak that I didn't realize I am pregnant.

"Gemstone! Are you okay?" I hear Qhawe asking from the bedroom. I can't help the tears that are flowing on my face. When Qhawe opens the door to walk in,I hysterically cry. He hugs me as we both sink to the floor. He keeps comforting me by rubbing my back repeatedly.

"Shhh...why are you crying?" He kissed my forehead.

"This is so scary for me. I never wanted to become a mother." It's okay if there are people who become happy of being parents, but I'm not. Taking care of a baby takes a lot from you. You lose yourself in the process of nurturing them. I was going to have a baby when I'm in my thirties because I would have been emotionally ready, but now I'm not. I'm not even twenty-four. How am I supposed to take care of a baby?

Qhawe called his doctor to confirm that I'm indeed pregnant and I am. Six months pregnant bam. The doctor said it's a cryptic pregnancy. Qhawe is so happy along with his little sister.

"Aren't you supposed to be at school?" I ask the girl who's busy preparing for my baby shower. Who said I'm having it here? I have a sister and two best friends waiting for me in South Africa. I'm pretty sure they would do a better job. Besides, I'm not feeling the excitement yet, but I do know I'm keeping my baby. Whether I want him or not doesn't reduce his right to live. I'm not God, and my baby deserves to live as much as I do, and it's a boy. I've always had this fantasy of my first baby being a boy, and God came through. It doesn't mean I'm happy, though.

"I'm home schooling,at least from when Qhawe fell sick and moved here." She scrolls on her phone while chewing a gun.

"You moved from your kingdom to London because your brother fell sick? What a supportive little sister." Literally though, she's amazing. She's the kind of little sister everybody needs.

"You would have done the same if I were you. I was told that he has only six months to live, so I wanted to spend those six months with him. Back to the baby shower,I forgot to ask, what's theme do you prefer?" Her eyes light up. She doesn't have green eyes like Qhawe. Hers are blue, more like normal blue, but they are so big and bright. She has clear light skin and small freckles. The golden braids compliment her skin color.

"You do know that my sister would never let you plan the baby shower?" I see disappointment written all over her face.

"I got ahead of myself... but if it's going to be held in South Africa, can it be at the Anokosha Kingdom? Pretty please. She can plan everything but the venue should be there." She gives me a puppy face. What kind of mother would I be if you always give in to puppy eyes? My son would get away with everything.

"Not unless you tell me why?"

"Great. Well, I've never been to the Anokosha Kingdom despite my mom being a princess from there. I heard that the Venda people are very lovely and I've even learned their language." She rambles.

"Why didn't you ever go there?" Wasn't she supposed to visit her maternal family?

"The family seer said it wasn't safe for me to leave the kingdom, but I've visited here several times, and nothing happened to me, so I feel like I'm ready to go to South Africa."

"Well, since you're Junior's aunt,i can do this small favor for you." Her whole face lightens up, and she embraces me.

"Thank you. You're the perfect girl for my brother." Well, I love compliments. She should keep them coming. "And the best mom for Junior." She kisses my tummy. I guess I need to prepare for people talking to my tummy. What a weird phase it would be.
