Harry's POV
。゚•┈୨♡୧┈·゚。

"She's not just an ordinary student. She's been marked by the dark lord."

"CEDRIC! NO!"

"HARRY!!"

"...Service of the dark lord since she was a child."

"He's back! Voldemort is back!"

"You are a fool, Harry Potter! A fool!"

"Y/n has done terrible things. And one day, she might be forced to do them to you."

"Don't you dare turn your back on me, Harry Potter!"

"Let go!"

I sat up in bed, gasping for air as sweat trickled down my forehead. Ever since I returned to this hellhole, I've been plagued by nightmares. I glanced over at Hedwig and gave her a somber smile. "Let's write a letter to Y/N," I murmured.

Getting out of bed, I grabbed a piece of parchment and a pencil. As I collected the items, I opened Hedwig's cage to let her stretch her wings. Making my way over to the small desk in the corner of my room, I sat down and began writing.

Dear Y/n.

It's been a while since my last letter. I hope you're having a good start to your summer. I know you're very busy with your internship for Advance Charms. But I do hope you're doing well. The others haven't responded to my letters. This is probably my umpteenth time trying to reach you.

I sighed, staring at the half written parchment. "Not a single bloody letter all summer...What did I do wrong, Hedwig?" I asked, glancing at her as she preened her feathers on her perch.

The summer here hasn't been the greatest. You won't believe what I've gone through. Like this one day my Uncle Vernon decided that the garden needed a new hedge. Not just any hedge, mind you, but one that had to be perfectly trimmed, uniform, and immaculate. He was obsessed with it. I was out there from dawn until dusk, trimming, clipping, and hauling away the clippings.

By the time I finished, I was exhausted and covered in dirt and scratches. But instead of thanking me or even acknowledging my hard work, Uncle Vernon accused me of using "my freakishness" to get the job done too quickly. He's convinced that I somehow "bewitched" the garden shears or something equally absurd. He said that no "normal" person could have finished so quickly and so perfectly.

As a "punishment," he locked me in my room without dinner. It was hours before Aunt Petunia finally let me out to use the bathroom. She slipped me a stale sandwich, though, which was better than nothing.

I'm used to their treatment, but it gets under my skin sometimes, you know? I keep reminding myself that it's just one more summer, and then I'll be back at Hogwarts, where I belong.

I hope things are better on your end then they are here. I can't wait to see you all again and to catch up properly.

Signed,

Harry

I folded the letter carefully and sealed it. I walked over to Hedwig's perch and tied the letter to her leg. "You know where to go Hedwig. Take this letter to Y/n." He said softly. Hedwig hooted gently, nipped his finger affectionately, and took off into the night.
