Jamal Murray and Gary Harris: Love at first sight

Chapter Twenty

{ The birth of Callie Murray-Harris }
- 9 months, 39 weeks pregnant: Day 3 -
~ Home birth ~
Heads up- very hard labor
Denver, Colorado
12:21pm,

"Ready for the little one to come out?" He asked. "Yeah," Jamal replied while changing onto his crimson purple bra and underwear. Well he wore them when he had Jasmine at his parents bedroom in Kitchener and now he's at his own place with his fiancé. Gary prepared the birthing mats on the bed where Jamal can lay down in case the contractions would start becoming more painful or yet, change positions when he doesn't make any progress with the labor. The midwife comes to the house where she can assist Jamal with the birth. "Hi I'm Abby, I'll be your midwife to help you with the birth," She introduced herself as Abby

3:10pm- 4 centimeters dilated

Jamal sat on the bed fixing his own hair and putting on a makeup such as eyeliner, foundation, lipstick and eyeshadow just to look good for the birth. The midwife had asked Gary to remove Jamal's underwear to check his cervix for any signs of the baby coming out. "Whoa! You look so gorgeous baby," "Thanks babe," He smiled. "I did my makeup to look good for giving birth. Besides, I got my nails done, eyelash extensions and other things before the big day to have a baby,"

He went back to lying in bed cuddling with his fiancé before napping to fuel his energy for the labor and then sitting on the chair. Plus, spreading his legs wide open to help open up his hips and pelvic floor. Nikola arrives at the house to check on his teammates.

He saw him sitting on the stool as the midwife showed him the demonstration on how he could have an easy birth. She placed her hand on his large bump making sure that the unborn baby was on the right position. She pointed out the front where the baby would most likely to come out from the birth canal.

5:01pm- 5 centimeters dilated

He took a nap to fuel his energy for the birth of their second baby. Gary went on the side to comfort his laboring fiancee while giving him a kiss on the shoulder and helping him breathe through contractions. He looks at Jamal's baby bump with his belly button popping out from the front (A/N: it can be noticeable on the other parts whenever he travels around.)

Gary Harris: how are you feeling baby?

Jamal Murray: not so good babe, it hurts like hell 😣

Gary Harris: okay. Do you want to sit on the birthing ball?

Jamal Murray: yeah sure.

He helped him sit on the ball to sway side to side. "Babe, I want our little angel to come out now," "I know baby, but she will come out soon. Your body is just preparing for the childbirth," He reminded him. Later on, he went back to bed to lie down with Gary. "Come here baby, lie down on the bed with me,"

He spent time giving Jamal the comfort that he needs. "Babe, don't leave me," "No worries Jamal, I won't leave you," He said quietly. "We'll go through this together hm? The midwife will be here to accompany you with the birth," Jamal continues to sit on the bed with extra pillows surrounding his head, back and shoulders.

~ Jamal's POV: Contractions were 50-60 seconds apart. Still hurts 😣

He gets up from the bed slowly to sit on the ball moving his hips around then relaxing in a tub hoping to soothe the pain around his waistline. Next, Jamal has the blankets covering his body to keep him warm. Gary acknowledges that he would sleep it off after the contractions had subsided.

Gary Harris: how about this? You can still try to sleep it off. Is that correct?

Jamal Murray: yes.
