With a deep breath, I put my phone away and looked up at the sky, the stars twinkling above. Despite the darkness surrounding me, I felt a glimmer of hope. I would find a way to move forward, to create a new life for myself and my child. I would survive this betrayal and emerge stronger than ever.
As I sat there, suddenly my phone buzzed with a notification. When I saw the notification, it was message from Ethan.
Ethan: Lizz! You need to know the truth that how your Brother and your father had shattered our world. Anna ,my sister was a bright and beautiful young woman, full of dreams and aspirations. She had met Arman at a university event, and their connection had been immediate. Arman had been charming and attentive, sweeping Anna off her feet with grand gestures and sweet words. They quickly became inseparable, and it seemed like a fairytale romance.
But beneath his charming exterior lay a darker truth. He had been using Anna for his own gain, manipulating her emotions and playing with her heart. He had been involved in an affair with his bestfriend Berta. But Anna, in her innocence, had no idea that she was being deceived by her love of life.
Still, during messaging you i am feeling than pain how Anna had started noticing changes in Arman's behavior. He became more distant and secretive, often disappearing for days without any explanation. Whenever she confronted him, he would dismiss her concerns with smooth lies and empty promises.
One day, Anna had discovered the extent of his deceit. She found incriminating photographs that linked her to Arman's affair. Shocked and heartbroken, she had confronted him, demanding the truth. But instead of admitting his wrongdoing, Arman had coldly told her that she was just a pawn in his game , a timepass, someone he could easily discard when she was no longer useful.
Anna had been devastated. Her trust shattered, and her dreams crushed. She had tried to fight back, but Arman had powerful connections and resources. He made sure that she was left with nothing, her reputation tarnished and her future in ruins.
But I was there for my sister, trying to pick up the pieces of her broken life. But the damage had been done. Anna had never fully recovered from the betrayal, and her once bright spirit had dimmed. The pain of seeing my only sister suffer had fueled my desire for revenge against your family.
And my father had been targeted by your father. There had been a business rivalry, and your father had resorted to ruthless methods to eliminate his competition. One night, my father had been attacked and beaten mercilessly, leaving him with life-threatening injuries. He had succumbed to his injuries a few days later, leaving me and Anna without a father.
The pain and anger in Ethan's eyes as he recounted these events had been palpable. I had felt a mixture of guilt and helplessness, unable to comprehend the extent of my family's actions. The weight of the past bore down on me, and I struggled to reconcile the image of my father and brother with the atrocities they had committed.
As I sat in the park, the gravity of his revelations sank in. My family had caused unimaginable pain and suffering to him and his sister. It was no wonder he had sought revenge. But still there was no fault of mine so why he had chosen me for his revenge. He had used me , deceived me and toying with my fragile heart that was already broken by my own father who had killed my mother and stole my childhood and another heartbreak from my first love,Josh. Who left me in the midway of my life.
I knew that moving forward wouldn't be easy. The path to healing would be long and arduous, but I was determined to find a way. For my unborn child, for the love I still held for Ethan, and for the promise of a better future, I would face the challenges ahead with strength and resilience.
With renewed determination, I stood up from the bench, feeling a sense of resolve wash over me. I would confront my brother, demand answers, and seek justice for Ethan and Anna. And perhaps, in time, I would find a way to forgive Ethan for his betrayal and build a new life for myself and my child. But pain of betrayal never allow me to do this.
Just then, I heard footsteps approaching. I looked up to see Ethan walking toward me, his face a mixture of sorrow and determination.
He sat down beside me, the weight of our shared past heavy between us."Lizz," he began, his voice trembling. "I know you have every reason to hate me, and I wouldn't blame you if you never wanted to see me again. But I need to tell you everything. You deserve the truth."
I nodded silently, bracing myself for what was to come. He took a deep breath, his eyes locking onto mine. "Anna and I lost everything because of your family. I wanted revenge, but along the way, I fell in love with you. I know I've hurt you deeply, and I can’t undo the pain I've caused. If you want to separate from me, I understand. You deserve better."
Tears welled up in my eyes as I absorbed his words. The betrayal still stung, but the sincerity in his voice was undeniable. "Ethan, I’m pregnant," I whispered, placing a hand on my stomach. "With your child."
His eyes widened in shock and then filled with a mixture of joy and sorrow. "Lizz, I... I didn’t know. I want to be there for you and our child. I want to make things right."
I shook my head, the pain of betrayal still fresh. "Ethan, we can't continue like this. We need to move on, for both our sakes and for our child. I’ll take care of our baby on my own. But you have full right on our baby. Whenever you want to meet , you can . But this time,I need to focus on healing and preparing for this new chapter."
His face fell, but he nodded, understanding my decision. "I promise to support you in any way I can. I'll respect your wishes and be here if you ever need me."
We sat in silence for a moment, the weight of our past and the uncertainty of our future hanging between us. Finally, I stood up, feeling a sense of resolve. "I’m going back to India, Ethan. The place where I was born, where I had spent my childhood. I need to start fresh. This is goodbye, for now."
He stood as well, his eyes filled with a mixture of regret and determination. "I understand, Lizz. I’ll always be here for you and our child."
With a final nod, I turned and walked away, leaving behind the pain and betrayal of the past. I knew the road ahead would be challenging, but I was ready to face it head-on. For my child, for myself, and for the promise of a brighter future.
As I boarded the plane back to India, I felt a sense of hope and determination. The past would no longer define me. I would create a future filled with love, strength, and the promise of a better tomorrow for my child and me.
