Three days in, and Y/n was basically a pro at nodding politely at her classmates. Miwa was cool, very kind, while the others...existed, and the broom girl wasn't that bad.

That was about as much socializing as Y/n could handle. Her favorite person, Utahime-san was patient – Y/n actually made it to class most of the time. Training was another story. Todo was way too gung-ho about teaching her "the way to fight." combats.

"But what's your type, Y/n?!" he'd ask her for the hundredth time. And y/n would just shrug it off and never answers.

Also, combats wasn't really her thing. Her yurei-gami was all she needed.

Now, today, mornings usually involved Y/n deeply, deeply asleep in her dorm room. Peace and quiet without her father's complaint about her being useless. That was the life. And she'll do anything for her mother.

RING!

"Pfft." Y/n sighed as her alarm blared. "Morning already?" She blearily rubbed her eyes and reluctantly dragged herself out of bed.

Uniform on, mask firmly in place (gotta maintain the mystique), Y/n shuffled off to find some breakfast. Her classmates were gathered near the wooden bridge, perched on a mattress that could fit them enough, like it was their own personal cloud. She never joined them to eat even once, but maybe it wouldn't be that bad if she tries today.

The sound of the waterfall was soothing, calming her heart more.

Miwa was the first one to notice the h/c girl. She even saved Y/n a spot. "Oh, Y/n-chan, good morning!" she chirped, patting the mattress beside her.

"Morning," Y/n mumbled, a tiny smile playing behind her mask, walking and sat next to miwa.

"Wow, look who decided to grace us with her presence." Todo announced, dripping sarcasm. Y/n didn't even bother looking his way.

Their usual morning chatter died down as they noticed her arrival. "You know we're heading to Tokyo today in an hour, right? For that goodwill thing." Nishimiya reminded.

"I know that." Y/n replied simply. Mai was staring at her, but in a good way? Maybe? It was hard to tell with Mai.

Suddenly, a plate appeared in front of her, piled high with breakfast foods. Y/n blinked, surprised, and glanced sideways at Noritoshi, who's passing her plate and didn't say anything. He was already staring ahead again, eyelids stubbornly closed.

"Thank you." Y/n said, carefully taking the plate. Leave it to the quiet one to be the most thoughtful.

"Tch, scoot over, Kamo. I need to ask Y/n something." Said todo, shoving Kamo's head aside so he can speak to y/n properly.

Y/n inwardly sighed. "That same question again?-Give me a break." she muttered, shooting Todo a definition of side-eye.

Miwa and Nishimiya laughed quietly, while Noritoshi just glared at Todo. His patience, usually as long as gakuganji's beard, was always getting short because of todo.

"You imbecile! I was just giving her the plate!" Noritoshi frowned in annoyance, elbowing Todo harshly. While Todo naturally ignored him.

"Just let the first year eat." Mai interjected, arms crossed. She'd already finished her breakfast.

Then, a booming voice echoed from seemingly nowhere. "How can she eat with that mask on?" Mechamaru, had spoken after eternity.

Y/n felt her shoulders slump. It wasn't even barely morning yet, and she already felt like she'd run a marathon. She waited patiently for the inevitable chaos to play out.
