Elijah Mikaelson sat with his younger siblings, Niklaus and Rebekah, in the sitting room of the newly renovated Mikaelson mansion. Rebekah was animatedly discussing her plans for hosting an event to assert the Mikaelson family's presence and influence in Mystic Falls. She argued that it was an opportunity not only to make a statement but also to showcase their elegance and power, particularly her own undeniable charm. Rebekah enjoyed the chance to dress up, boasting that she was the most stunning vampire in the entire town.

While Niklaus found the idea appealing, relishing the chance to instill fear and dominance among the locals, Elijah held reservations. He believed such an event would unnecessarily draw attention and potential enemies. However, Elijah's objections were drowned out by the enthusiasm of his siblings.

Even Kol, typically more inclined to mischief than formal gatherings, found merit in the idea. His interest was piqued by the potential for entertainment and intrigue that such an event could bring.

Despite Elijah's reluctance, he found himself outnumbered. He understood that his siblings were set on their course, and he reluctantly agreed to support the event. Over the past thirty minutes, Rebekah had been outlining her vision for the ball, jotting down every detail she desired while her brothers listened, occasionally offering their opinions and suggestions.

Then, with a venomous edge to his voice, Klaus issued his decree. "Let it be known that the wretched Bennett witch is not invited," he declared, his disdain for Bonnie Bennett evident in every syllable. The memory of her attempt on his life fueled his animosity, and he wanted nothing to do with her.

Rebekah, never one to shy away from drama, eagerly joined in, her eyes gleaming with malicious delight. "Absolutely not," she chimed in, her tone laced with scorn. "She's not even worthy of being in the same room as us."

Elijah, the voice of reason amidst his siblings' chaos, interjected with a sigh, attempting to temper their animosity with diplomacy. "We mustn't allow personal vendettas to cloud our judgment. Let us focus on the matter at hand—ensuring the success of this event without unnecessary complications."

Klaus shot his brother a withering glare, his patience wearing thin. "Always the diplomat, Elijah. But mark my words, sister, if that Bennett witch dares to show her face, she'll regret it."

Rebekah nodded in agreement, a triumphant smirk playing on her lips. Elijah, feeling defeated by his siblings' stubbornness, could only sigh in resignation. Sometimes, it seemed, family was the greatest challenge of all. "Need I remind you how close she came to ending you? Consider how her powers have flourished in just a few months."

The youngest Mikaelson laughed darkly, dismissing her brother's caution. "You must be mad to think she could take us both down without sacrificing herself first, brother."

"Her strength may surprise you, Rebekah. Do not underestimate her."

Klaus seized the chance to taunt his sister further. "Oh, I'm sure our dear sister would love the challenge," he teased, mischief gleaming in his eyes. "Perhaps we should extend her an invitation after all. It would be quite the spectacle."
