Today I'm going to the beach with my boyfriends. It's our third date, officially. We've done small things like cuddling and cooking meals together, but with Heizou's busy schedule, it's been hard to plan anything. Thankfully, Kujou Sara noticed our plight and insisted that Heizou take a break so we've finally been able to plan a special date together.
"Hei, stop splashing me," Kazuha laughed and Heizou drenched him with another wave of water.
"Heizou!" Kazuha shrieked and sent a wave of water at his boyfriend.
"Ahh!" Heizou yelled in surprise as the force of the water knocked hm down, causing a big splash as he fell. Kazuha extended his hand to help Heizou. Heizou grabbed Kazuha's hand and yanked the latter into the water. Kazuha landed on top of Heizou, causing a second smaller splash. Before Kazuha could yelp in surprise, his lips sealed by Heizou's.
I chuckled at the cliché, lovey dovey moment from shore. I opted to stay on land because... uh, wait, what was my excuse?
"Scara, you should come join us!" Heizou yelled, no longer beneath Kazuha.
"But..." Crap, what was my excuse!?
"Don't tell us your joints will get rust!" Heizou said, wadding out of the water with Kazuha tow.
"My boos wouldn't stop yapping about the Raiden Shogun at the hot springs so I know you're lying."
"Woah, what a great solve, Mr. Detective. But you overlooked something. That was probably the Shogun's actual body, not her puppet vessel," Scara said with eye roll.
"Even-" Kazuha put a hand on Heizou's shoulder.
"There's some wetsuits over there. Heizou can buy one for you if you'd like," Kazuha suggested.
"That's fine. I don't want to trouble you guys."
"Kazuha and I are going to buy sunscreen anyway, so it's not a problem."
But, aren't wetsuits expensive?"
"Not really. Beside, if it's for you, it's all good," Heizou assured me, giving me a flirtatious wink.
"But-"
"I'll buy one, anyway," Heizou said, grabbing his wallet.
I rolled my eyes again and growled, "You're wasting your money."
"We'll only be gone a short while, hon," Kazuha promised me, my cheek softly.
"Mmkay," I whispered back.
"Aw, why aren't you ever like that with me, Scara?"
"Cuz you annoying me, Hei."
Heizou made a small "oh" sound that made my heart pang. Damn it! Why do I always hurt him?! Shit, what do I say to make him feel better?!
"I'm sure it's just because that I've known Scara longer, right?" Kazuha said.
"Sure, yeah, whatever," I mumbled, secretly thankful for the save.
"Anyway, we'll be back in a bit," Heizou said, waving as he walked towards the shops with Kazuha.
I glanced around my surroundings. We were in a secluded spot so there were little to no people nearby. The golden sand sparkled beneath the sun. The clear blue sky smiled as if it had never known the strike of lightning. It was absolutely perfect. And yet, it was so mundane and boring. People sometimes wish for moments to freeze, to savor the scene forever, however in the very moment, I wanted the opposite; I wanted time to speed up.
Boredom consumed my mind as I ran out of things to think about. Without invitation, a macabre thought formed; I should drown myself right now.
My mind was instantly filled with all sorts of gruesome scenarios; each ending with my demise. I focused my mind on the picture of me drowning. I imagined the sensation of water replacing the air in my lungs. The way my mind would fog as I sink deeper. My vision would surely blur as I near the beyond. My body would feel unbelievably light and yet too heavy to move. I slowly opened my eyes as the images faded from my mind's eye. Seeing Heizou nor Kazuha had yet to return, my gaze shifted to the enticing blue ocean. Each crash of the waves hitting wet sand whispered to me. I raised from my spot and stepped closer to water's edge, enchanted by the repetitive whooshing of the waves. A shiver ran through me as the cool water touched my feet, telling me to turn back, but I didn't budge. I wadded through the water, ignoring the uncomfortable texture of wet sand between my toes. I was in up to my chest when the sand path guiding me suddenly dropped, leaving only two options for me: take the final step and fell to the strong waves testing my resolve or turn back and surrender to a world of boredom and betrayal. Finally realizing where I stood, I took another step, sinking into the blue abyss. Immediately, I was pulled deeper by the water
