Chapter 24

Lily Lloyd

I leave the kitchen to walk up the stairs to the private study my husband is in. Where all major decisions and meetings happen between the three royal families. I don't have to knock as I know he is waiting for me. I enter the study and see him waiting in his chair for me. I shut the door behind me knowing that Amber is in the room we gave her, It was my idea for her to stay, I know exactly what's happening.

"Amber is her name"

"Yes"

I reply immediately after. I walk closer to him at the desk. I know that look now for years on his face, frowning but questioning. He knows I know something; I can't say anything to soon, but he will figure it out soon enough on his own. I'll save most of the important details, for now I need to figure out how to tell him that she's a vampire hunter and our sons mate. Two things that I don't like but by the looks of the girls it almost seems like she'd have rather liked to live a normal life than what she does now.

"Lily?"

I look into his eyes from looking at the floor. 

"Leyla Adams was taken from a party that our son was at, no clues, no leads from what I've been told"

" Ryan said the same thing, I'll find out who but for now make sure she doesn't get hurt while she's here, she's human, no accidents"

 I nod my head and turn to leave. I need to find a good way to approach this, so he doesn't try to hurt her, we lost a few vampires to the hunters, and we kill anyone who we think may be one. I need to help her to play it smart, but I need to make sure she doesn't try to harm my son, If I can find a way to get them to bond, maybe she could change her mind about vampires and she could let the mate bond work between them. 

This is all so complicated, more than I wish it was. I also have to hide us being vampires from her, I'm more worried about Ryan not being able to control himself with the bond seeing that he is a vampire and feeling emotions at a more heightened level. I need to talk with him before he does anything on his own but without giving away the bond, I won't be able to help if he becomes possessive over her and anger easily until the bond is solidified. 

I haven't got to have the talk with him about finding his mate and what it will feel and look like. He will become stronger in his powers with his mate, this is royally bad, everyone in this house is hiding something from everyone and it will end badly if everyone finds out.
