The morning sun cast a golden glow over Neverland, its warmth a stark contrast to the chill of uncertainty that gripped my heart. The events of the past few days weighed heavily on me, and the need for answers gnawed at my mind like a relentless tide. I couldn't stay in the cabin, surrounded by the comforting yet confusing presence of Cassian and the lost children. I needed to think, to sort through the tangled web of truths and lies that had been spun around me.
I slipped out of the cabin quietly, careful not to wake anyone. The island was serene in the early light, the soft hum of nature filling the air. I wandered along the familiar paths, my thoughts racing as I tried to make sense of everything.
Cassian's words had been soothing, his promises heartfelt, but Edward's revelations had planted seeds of doubt that refused to be ignored. Could Cassian really be hiding something from me? The idea was almost unbearable, but the nagging feeling that there was more to the story than I knew wouldn't leave me.

I found myself at the edge of the forest, the place where Cassian and I had often come to watch the sunrise. The memory of those moments, filled with laughter and hope, now felt bittersweet. I sat on a large rock, gazing out at the horizon, the endless sea of questions swirling in my mind.

"Why did you bring me here, Cassian?" I whispered to the wind, hoping for some kind of answer. "What is it that you're not telling me?"

The wind rustled the leaves around me, as if in response, but it brought no clarity. I closed my eyes, trying to piece together the fragments of information I had. Edward had insisted that Cassian had his own agenda, that the magic of Neverland was something to be wary of. But why would Cassian lie to me? What could he possibly gain from it?
The sound of footsteps behind me broke my reverie, and I turned to see one of the lost children, a boy named Jack, approaching. His face was filled with concern as he stopped a few feet away.

"Emily, are you okay?" he asked, his voice soft.

I managed a small smile. "I'm fine, Jack. Just needed some time to think."
He nodded, looking out at the horizon with me. "Cassian's worried about you. We all are."

"I know," I said, my voice barely above a whisper. "I just... I need to understand."

Jack looked at me, his eyes filled with a wisdom beyond his years. "Sometimes, the answers we seek are closer than we think. We just have to be brave enough to face them."

His words struck a chord within me, and I felt a surge of determination. I had been running from the truth, afraid of what I might find. But I couldn't hide any longer. I had to confront my doubts head-on, no matter how painful the answers might be.

"Thank you, Jack," I said, giving him a grateful smile. "You're right."

He smiled back, a glimmer of hope in his eyes. "We'll figure it out, Emily. Together."

As he walked away, I took a deep breath, the weight of my decision settling over me. I had to find Cassian, to confront him with my doubts and fears. It was the only way to find the truth.

I made my way back to the cabin, my steps sure and steady. The children were already up, preparing breakfast and chattering among themselves. Cassian was at the center of it all, his presence a calming influence on the group. When he saw me, his face lit up with relief.

"Emily, there you are," he said, walking over to me. "I was worried."

"I'm sorry, Cassian," I replied, my voice steady. "I needed some time to think."

He nodded, understanding in his eyes. "I get it. This place can be overwhelming sometimes."

I took a deep breath, bracing myself for what I was about to say. "Cassian, I need to talk to you. Alone."
