Sadly, Shinyu's team lost the cheers and yells competition but they still praised because he still did a very good job, and it's not his fault that the team lost. Their team just needed more mastery and volume control, unlike the other team who has already those traits.
His teammates thanked him for the good job he had done and he was thankful for them that they thought of him. His teammates that are also his classmates were acting weird though, they were avoiding him, except Youngjae.
Everytime he would try to say hi, he would get ignored. If he'll sit next to them, they would get up and transfer to another seat.
When he sat next to Youngjae, he expected that he also would avoid him, but, Youngjae leaned on his shoulder and talked to him.
"Are you okay?" Youngjae asked.
"Kind of tired. There were a lot of things to do earlier because of Student Body responsibilities, and the fact that our team lost the competition, I feel guilty." He said, leaving the 'everyone started ignoring me' thing because he thought he might be wrong.
"Don't think that it's your fault cause it's not, and you should just rest, I always see how you work so hard not just for the team, but for everyone. Don't forget yourself." Youngjae said, getting up. He smiled and mouthed a thank you.
Shinyu remembered that Youngjae will be participating in the basketball competition today too, along with Dohoon and their other teammates.
"Good luck! I know that you still kind of have fever so don't force yourself, but do your best!" Shinyu cheered him.
Youngjae went to his teammates, leaving Shinyu alone.
Shinyu remembered his privileges, he was a member of the Student Body Government. He changed his clothes, wearing the SBG Uniform instead of their team t-shirt so that he can go to the opposite team's side and sit with his best friends.
"I hope they're not part of the ignoring Shinyu agenda." He thought.
He walked all the way to the opposite side of the gymnasium and went up to his friends, and he was glad they were happy to welcome him with them. He was getting teary eyed already but he was controlling himself since they're out in public.
"Hey! Why are you here? Come sit with us!" Seira called him and patted a space next to her.
Shinyu made his way to the empty bleacher and sat down. He looked to the seat below to him and found his other friends, Jun and Jodie. It was the four of the who were best friends. Sadly, only him was from the opposite team and the rest were teammates. Unfair, but Shinyu loves his team so much.
"I just want to be here. I think I'm not welcome there anymore." Shinyu answered. "Everyone except Youngjae was ignoring me. They're probably blaming me for our loss."
"It's no one's fault. They should remember that someone would lose everytime someone wins, and the spirit of victory is not with us everytime. I mean, it's the first time our team has ever won the contest, you guys should be happy for us!" Jun said.
"I know, but they're probably thinking that the streak was already wrong and it ended. I don't think I could ever face them again." Shinyu replied, looking down.
"Well if you're not welcome here, you're always welcome here with us! You can keep wearing that uniform instead of your team t-shirt so that it'll just look like you're supervising this team. They don't deserve you there anyways." Seira said cheering him up.
Shinyu smiled, the sadness from him slowly fading but it's still there along with the guilt. He was happy though that he has these friends he can rely on.
