Nova never knew she was so powerful until she started training. Keeping in touch with Natasha as promised, the redhead offered to help Nova control and understand her powers through training. At first, Nova was hesitant. She had always viewed her powers as a curse—dangerous to others and herself. And they were.

But maybe, just maybe, she could use them for the better. She could tame them, control them, and use them for good. Maybe even become an Avenger, who knows?

So, Nova took up Natasha's offer and agreed to train. She arrived at the Avengers Tower, her hood pulled low over her head as usual. The imposing structure loomed above her, a symbol of hope and power. At first, the guards refused to let her in, but then someone recognized her.

"Hey, Elsa!" Sam called out with a mischievous grin, letting her in and past security. "Welcome to the humble abode. Just don't go freezing anyone in there, alright? We just got the heating fixed," he joked, making Nova snort.

"You're crazy if you think this is a humble abode," she sassed, walking alongside him as they approached the training room. The Avengers Tower was enormous. It had multiple floors, a bar, breathtaking views, and even its own cinema. Man, to be Tony Stark's daughter...

Sam gave her a little tour on the way, pointing out random stuff he thought was cool or showing off like this place was his own. But unfortunately, their banter was cut short when they arrived at the training room—and it was massive. It had punching bags, dummies, a shooting range, and a boxing ring too—this was crazy.

She didn't know her jaw had dropped until someone spoke up. "Careful there, Snow White. We just had the floors polished; wouldn't want to slip on your drool," Tony Stark snickered, pushing himself off a wall he had been leaning on. "Welcome to the big leagues," he smirked.

"Oh, shut up, Tony," Nat scoffed, rolling her eyes as she got up and approached Nova. "Ignore him. He's got a big ego and is one hell of a narcissist."

Nova chuckled, pulling her hood off. "Yeah, I can tell. And what's up with them giving me Disney princess names? First Rapunzel and now Snow White?"

"They're just lame like that," Nat laughed, ushering the two men out of the room to give Nova her privacy while she trained, making sure she felt comfortable.

"Alright, Star. Let's get started," the redhead grinned, ready to help her old friend control her powers.

Hours passed since Natasha and Nova first started training, and the white-haired girl was slowly starting to get the hang of it. "Okay, now I want you to block this, alright?" Natasha held up some sort of ball, aiming it at Nova without any warning.

But Nova quickly reacted, emitting a white light from her hands as she sent a powerful surge out of them, making the ball fly in the other direction. Nova thought she did a good job—until the ball went flying through a punching bag, watching as it ripped open and its contents spilled across the floor.

"I'm not gonna have to pay for that, right?" Nova flashed a crooked grin towards Nat, who laughed softly. "Nah, don't worry. We've got plenty more," she smiled softly, leaving to get another one.

Nova took a seat, taking out her water bottle for a sip, her ears perking up when she heard the door open.

"Hey, Nova, is it?" Walking in was Steve Rogers, dressed in a tight gym shirt and loose sweatpants. Nova almost choked on her water.

"Huh—what? Oh, yeah," Nova grinned up at him, putting her water bottle away as if she wasn't about to choke on water. Fuck—he looked so good. And that shirt squeezing his biceps and muscles...

"You train here?" the blond asked, taking a seat next to her, leaving a fair distance between them.

"Mhm. Today's my first day, actually. Caused a bit of a mess," she chuckled, nodding to the now-ruined punching bag lying on the floor.

Steve laughed softly at her words, his eyes never leaving her face. Now Nova felt a bit awkward. She was sitting with Captain America—the hottest blond she'd seen in her life, actually—and now she decides she can't speak?!

"So, uh... how's Bucky?" Nova cleared her throat, trying to make conversation. But a hint of guilt tugged at her stomach as she saw him sigh and his expression falter, looking to the ground.

"He's... fine. Haven't seen him since the mission. I keep trying to find him, but it's almost impossible," he sighed in frustration, burying his face in his hands. Nova chewed her lip, her hand hesitantly coming to rest on his shoulder.

"Maybe he's not ready for you to find him yet, Steve. You know what he's been through. Give him some time to heal," Nova spoke gently, caressing his back.

The blond's blue eyes met her green ones, flickering with slight sympathy. He sighed and nodded, sitting back up again. "Maybe you're right," Steve murmured. "But I just—I miss him so much," he gulped.

"I know you do, but he needs time," Nova continued to speak gently, her arms instinctively wrapping around his figure for a hug. She froze as she realized what she was doing but relaxed when his arms wrapped around her too.

Her hand kept caressing his back, hoping to give him some comfort. Steve eventually pulled away, looking into her eyes. Nova gulped, feeling his breath on her lips, leaning closer to Steve on instinct, her heart thumping in her chest.

But a soft sigh left his lips instead, pulling away and standing up. "Thanks, Nova. See you around," he murmured as he turned and left. Nova sat there, stunned into silence, her eyes blinking as if to process what just happened.

God, what an idiot. Of course, he wouldn't kiss her. She was a freak. And she looked like one, too. Her hair was enough to prove it, besides her powers.

Her shoulders slumped, her legs coming up to rest against her chest as she propped her chin on her knees, an uncontrollable pout on her lips.

"What's got you pouting, Elsa?" Sam snickered from the doorway. "God, please don't make that my nickname," Nova groaned, tipping her head back in annoyance. "Well, what would you prefer? Rapunzel, Elsa, or Snow White?" he continued, taking a seat beside her.

"But seriously, what happened?" He nudged her. "I just saw Steve walking out of here," he hummed.

"It's nothing, Birdbrain. My powers are just frustrating me right now," Nova grumbled, brushing off the topic of what happened between her and Rogers.

"Whatever you say, Elsa," Wilson snickered, flicking her hair back with his hand. "Care to join us for dinner?"
