COLET’S POV

“Colet?” she said, her voice a mix of shock and disbelief.

“Hey,” I responded with a smile. She looked momentarily uncertain but stood up to greet me properly. She gave me a slight hug and a beso. “Why are you here?” she asked.

“I was invited by PrimeBuild since I’m one of their clients. I’m building a resort in Alegria,” I replied with a smile, unable to stop admiring how her eyes sparkled like the brightest star of the night.

“Wait, is Azure Escape yours?” she asked, her curiosity evident.

“Yes,” I answered.

“I designed it! Buti naman you approved it,” she said with a satisfied smile, clearly relieved that her work was well-received.

“Oh, I didn’t know that. But yes, I approved it right away because it was exactly what I wanted. Homey and islandy vibes. Kuhang-kuha mo.” I said smiling and nodding in agreement.

“I took inspiration from your hostel—very Bali, but with a homey touch,” she smiled and paused. “I’m coming to Siargao next week. I was planning to visit you sana, but it looks like our reunion happened earlier than expected.” She raised one of her eyebrows and smirked.

The thought of her planning a visit warmed my heart.

“By the way, how did you find out about the book?” she asked, as she took the book on the table where she had been sitting and pointed it.

“I saw it at Fully Booked yesterday. When I saw the title, something sparked inside me because it has the same name as my hostel. When I read the book description, I didn’t think twice and just bought it right away,” I explained. She listened, looking genuinely amazed.

She listened, clearly fascinated. “When I read it last night, I couldn’t put it down. It felt like déjà vu, reliving our moments from six months ago. I started to think that maybe you were the author, because the details seemed too specific to be just a coincidence.”

“When I was reading it last night, I couldn’t seem to put it down. Each chapter felt like déjà vu, like I was reliving our moments from six months ago. It dawned on me that maybe, just maybe, you were the one who wrote it because the details were too specific to be a coincidence,” I said.

She was smiling from ear to ear, shaking her head as if caught in the act. She looked so cute. “You got me,” she admitted.

“Yeah, now I know how you felt at that time.” I chuckled and gave her a playful smirk. She looked away feeling a bit embarrassed. Ang cute pala neto mahiya.

“Shall we get a drink?” she asked changing the subject, but I followed her to the cocktail area anyway.
